I fondly recall some years ago GM fussed over the sound made by the car door closing. I think in the old days there was a lot of 'loose hardware' inside doors that would bounce around during the initial slam. To this day I can tell the sound of a 66 chevelle trunk lid either opening or closing, blindfolded. It was that unique.

Myself and my crew were at the Summer Nationals many years ago at Raceway Park in Englishtiwn NJ. Amazing that we made it there as the night before was a friends stag party. We had pit passes and in those days you could walk right up to most all the cars that were being prepped. My buddy and I stuck our heads into one stall where there was a funny car going through idle adjustments. The chief goosed it just like in this video as soon as my ears were close enough. I thought my hungover head actually came off my shoulders. Couldnt hear for a while. I think it was fun. Not sure.
