Does anyone know if there is a member still on the site that is willing to sell chrysler parts at a discounted rate? I do not remember his name or phone number.
I am in need of a new or rebuilt TCM - Transmission Control Module.
My car will not shift out of 1st gear.

Are you sure it's the module and not the sensor ?

yes. I changed the sensors already and then took it to a friend of mine who put a computer on it and it said the TCM was bad.

jeff hunter at mopar super center--1-800-456-5337.many people on this site swear bye his prices, his prices maybe good, but his service on getting the part, absolutely sucks.just found out yesterday that a part that was on b/o has been sitting in his parts depart. for a week.i already paid for it a month ago.he never shipped it or called me.that it was in.i gave him the my email address and still have no tracking #.was it worth saving 20.00 no.next time i will buy some where else.you can also try your local dealer or moparpart.com,good luck.there is a member on this site,he is being boycotted, because he screwed another member out of 100.00.

Thanks for the news. I think his name might have been the 1 I was thinking of. I will keep looking. The part I need is approx. $450.00 dealer cost. A little steep right now. Looking for something a little less.

Thanks

Tracy,

One time my check engine light was on and when I pulled the code it was for a bad TCM. My car was shifting fine, but the shift indicator lights in the speedomater were not functioning. The large plug that bolts down to the top of the TCM in the trunk was a little loose....
I think there is one bolt right in the middle...

I removed the bolt, removed the plug, wiped the connection clean, and re-attached the plug, making sure I bolted it down good. That fixed it...

Hope this might fix your problem too...

My mechanic said that he has cleaned everything and tightened all of the bolts. I also replaced both of the sensors (input & output) and that didn't work either. This has to be a very minor problem because the car hasn't been driven for probably a year.
Any other help would be greatly appreciated.

I found one from Rick Hendrick Jeep Chrysler in Charleston, SC. They list at over $600.

Our price:
$292.60 plus $100.00 Core Charge - Part Nbr. RL686876AB

Call 800-456-5337 and ask for Jeff Hunter. Tell him you’re a member for the Prowler Online Association (POA)

Codes:

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction
P1775 TCC Solenoid Switching Valve Ctl Engaged
Switch Solenoid Stuck in TCC

When slowing down to a stop car would suddenly give loud clunk. When I went to autostick it showed the car in 2nd gear. It would not let me autotick it to 1st gear. If I put car in park, then went to autostick, I could shift to 1st then.

I first tried to replace both sensors, as I have a spare set, but it did not fix the problem. Finally, after a couple of weeks of the tranny doing this sometimes when I was coming to a stop, I finally got the 2 codes I posted above.

My mechanic ordered a new one from chrysler and i believe his cost was $480.00 + s/h.
I didn't want to spend this much on the repair but the car cannot be driven without it.

TRACY,
According to your last post the TCC solonide is stuck 'on'. Your description fits the failure mode to a tee! Think of this failure like comming to a stop with a manual transmission car without pushing in the clutch! This solonide is an electronic 'on off switch' which tells the torque converter clutch to 'lock up'. (Normally at around 45 MPH in 4th gear) This solonide should not be very expensive. You might have to drop the trans oil pan to replace it (I don't have a trans manual in front of me). I do not believe you need a new controller for the trans. Try to replace the TCC solenoid first!

well he already has a new TCM coming in today or tommorrow. Once he puts this in we will see if it is the same problem or not.

Thanks for posting anyway.
