Does that mean that you're going to take Marc's place at Dream Cruise? Do we need to bring bail money? And who is going to sing "It's Raining Men"? We need a small tribute to Marc. He was planning to drive across the country with you. He'll be sorely missed. RIP Marc. |

Bail money is always a good idea. Yes, Marc is, and will be deeply missed. It will be hard swinging past Colorado this year. I will have the pamphlet of his services with me in the car. But I know Marc would want us to have fun no matter what, and we need to honor that. |

This one is better. Years ago my computer crashed and I lost almost all of my Prowler pics, glad I saved this one. |

Wow! I remember that day in Las Vegas! CJ and I ran the two lane road out in front of you and Marc so that you could race time after time. And that was after you both broke at Deadwood...one transaxle and one engine.....an expensive trip. Didn't you end up with MY ENGINE in your car????? |

Every time Marc turned on the bottle he would take me. But I could take his stroker engine by itself with my super-charged Kat. Yes, I did end up with one of your "test" motors when I blew mine in Deadwood. (with Marc riding shotgun, after that he was banned). I remember the service manager telling me to take it easy for a few thousand miles for "break-in" purposes. Good times,, Padroo, I didn't think they sold Marcs car, but I could be wrong. Hope not. I have a recent picture of it that I took took at the Colorado event. When I get on my PC I will post it. I think John had just put fresh stroker engine in it. I don't know what kind of HP and torque numbers it is putting out. He was taking it easy on it because he was breaking it in. |

I believe a Randy?,, from PA, I could be wrong on the name. He had a silver also. Last time I heard he all kinds of decals, or skin cover, or paint over the whole car. Maybe a US flag. It's a fog to me. Thanks Larry, I leave tomorrow. Looking to pull into Auburn Hills this Sunday. Should make it easy, going to stop at the Gilmore Car Museum at noon to meet up with Bob and CJ I hope. This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 08-04-2015 at 07:43 PM |

But I will say the meet at Deadwood opened up the whole world of Prowler fun for me. Met so many good people, in what was such a terrible disaster for me. The 4th of July Parade in that neighboring poor mining town, where you really could see the wonder in the children's eyes when they saw so many Kats in the parade. The laughs, oh man the laughs we had day and night there. I remember Ed riding a bicycle in some kind of clown outfit?. I thought man this is the place for me. Meeting Marc, Bob, CJ, and everyone for the for the first time. Saw the first Inca Gold and said out loud, "baby S%$# Green" I blew the motor on a desolate road in WY, hot as hell. And I mean blew it like a Nascar runner too. Steam, oil, water everywhere. Bob and his buddy, ( I wish I could remember his name, sorry, big wig with the Prowler development), putting their heads together saying this blown motor would be a good opportunity to tear it down and see what went wrong. Bob, CJ going back to the hotel, Bob to get the trailer, CJ to get drinks and refreshments, for EVERYONE who was with us on that particular day cruise. They all stayed with me in 100 degree heat, and all the shade we had was a road sign about Custer had done something close by way back when. Bob putting the car on his trailer and hauling it to Rapid City Dodge with me and Marc. (yes Marc, what a truly great friend he turned out to be.) Bob telling the service manager he himself would be sending him a new engine to put in the car. I remember the service manager saying normally they just repair what is broke, he didn't see the three inch hole in the side of my block. . But even so Bob would have none of it, new engine period. So you can imagine the emotions I feel for this club, and the people involved in it. I have truly met some of the best people of my life here. For about 3 more years there were events almost every 3 months somewhere. Always a smile, always good times. I was involved deeply in it, and the people, go back and look how many times I use to post to see. It hurts to see it become what it has, IMO. This was a all out fun, no stops kind of group. Now it has turned into half the group being hurtful, disrespectful, way to harsh people. Even has a political forum no less, a HUGE political forum. Even when it is suppose to be only in the political off topic it bleeds everywhere. Off topic BS is just as bad But the one thing for me that has been my Tara if you will, is Woodward. Nothing bad can happen at Woodward. Even Marc burning out in front a cop, (can never be topped) It is the glue that keep those us who truly love cars and working on them, together. So, onward to the next adventure with my friends. For my 5th time. From all the way across the country. To the rest, and you truly know who I mean, you can have your web site back tomorrow. Try to take better care of it please. Some people have a lot of heart invested in it. When they think of the POA now they get sad, or pissed. I remember now Bob, I think it was Bob Selzmen (sp) who I race when I blew the engine. This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 08-04-2015 at 11:16 PM |

Can't wait for you to arrive. You're getting me excited about the Cruise. There's so much to do! We'll try to catch up to Jerry and Marsha while you're here. Boy you really brought back some memories. Deadwood was Larry Lord's vacation that he invited us all to join him on. We dodged bad hail storms two different times. Alley Cat lost his pop cans. Monahan wore his cape on the motorcycle and was immortalized by Mike and Karen Gatlin. Someone had a pump to spray water on his rear tires to lighem' up during the parade. WOW! |

Yes, Jerry and Marsha, how could I forget such nice people. I was dying with the blown engine, Jerry and Marsha kept telling me things would be ok as they waited with me. I wasn't making much money back then, I was surviving, times are better now, wish I was 20 years younger. So I was looking at hard times for awhile, saving for the repairs. Ed with the cape, not the clown suit, Larry's soda. Marc passing out purple toy prowlers I believe. Man what fun. You should be excited about Woodward. It's the mother of all cruises, back where it all began. I have guys in my Plymouth club calling often wishing me well and wishing they could come, some I will meet on the way out, or the way back. But one thing for sure, as Kathleen says. IT'S ALWAYS A ADVENTURE This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 08-04-2015 at 11:13 PM |

I'm getting old. I was there at Woodward before they shut it down. Tickets for excessive noise with the tires and blocking traffic. Saw some of the top dogs run, colorful names that are legendary today. Fortunately I still have dinner with a number of them every other week. When you grew up there, the annual activities bring back those memories and the activities help create new memories for those attending. The people that come back from all over the country each year live that. Ask Larry Bell and his friends how they feel about Woodward. If you've never been there you just wouldn't understand. |
