In the event section there is a topic titled Spring Fling XX pic-Post em here. There is a pic there at the bottom of the pics of TOP KAT's Kat. This is a must see. It's hard to come up with things we haven't seen done to a Prowler but TOPKAT did it. Check it out! Jeff This message has been edited by SirReal on 04-29-2005 at 04:11 PM |

He does have the display of his kat real nice. I like the set up of his hard top and trunk lid, very clever. |

quote: TOP KAT, can you tell us more about the 2 supports, and close ups of the top leading edge, and where they fall at the bottom end and length! Great idea. This message has been edited by RADCAT RICH on 05-05-2005 at 09:04 AM |

Thanks guys for all of the nice comments. Thanks to Gary for posting the pics. Ed, the top is so light that you need no extra support at the rear. Just make sure the top's rear latches are secure to the top. ( You know how they tend to loosen ocassionally) The front supports are steel wiring conduit, cut to length, and have been chrome plated. The conduit fits around the positioning stud on the "top" and I put a 1 and 1/2" long 3/8ths stainless tapered head screw in the end of the conduit at the windshield to slip into the positioning slot for the top (above the windshield ) to prevent the conduit from moving if it becomes a bit windy outside. For indoor shows I do not use the stainless screws. I can't recall the exact length I cut the conduit but I will go by the warehouse today, measure and post tonight. Hope this is helpful to any of you who may want to display your car in this fashion. Jim ------------------ This message has been edited by Top Kat on 05-02-2005 at 09:59 AM |

What a coincidence. This weekend in Moab Ray Vinson showed me how you can lift the hardtop like this to access the trunk, in my case for the nitrous bottle. This makes using the hardtop much nicer knowing you can still access the trunk. Having two people to lift it helps but it is possible to do it by yourself if you are very careful and do it from inside the car. |

AC thanks for posting the pics here. The Lambo doors are cool enough but the trunk lid and hardtop combo was really cool. Jim should change the name from Top Kat to Top Gun as it looked like something a Blue Angel pilot would drive when ground bound. Nice, Jim! |

Very different, but I think I would still worry about that top! |
