Does anyone know Why, mostly all the headliners on the hardtops are like a beige color. When they did the hardtops why not have them match the color of the interior. Is it an issue with light? Maybe the beige makes it seem alittle brighter inside since the rear window is a little smaller than the canvas top? Also, did anyone try to change the headliner to match or try and dye it? |

I have NO headliner. Inside is painted to match the rest of the car. You could always have the headliner removed and wrapped .... ------------------ |

Try this for a headliner The guy that is painting my Dart got a `64 Corvette Roadster in this last week to do the brakes and repair where the guy installed dumby spot lights on it in his youth. Tony said I had to look at this car. One Owner 26,683 miles on it. He did the normal stuff we did when we were young and dumb. White tape stripe down the center of the car front to rear, pinstripes along the top of the fenders and to liven up the red interior black and white furry stuff that looks like rabbits fur..........FORGET THE COLOR MATCHING HEADLINER..........Put in rabbits fur.......hehehe |

joebenz7, We originally installed a dark agate color headliner in the Gen-1 hardtops and decided to change to the medium/light gray cloth headliner to help lighten up the interior. Our designers felt that with the hardtop on the vehicle it appeared to be cave-like inside with such a dark color headliner. Also the original material was also no longer available so we went with a OE style cloth material. In doing this color change, it gave the appearance of a more roomy interior. (actual additional head room is 1-1/2" over the OE convertible top).We also wanted the hardtop to appear as much a factory designed product that looked like it came with the vehicle, not just another aftermarket accessory. I hope this helps answer your question? ------------------ This message has been edited by Norb @ TGF on 10-27-2004 at 06:24 PM |

I was going to say.........mine isn't beige...it's a light gray and I like that, as it makes it seem roomier. |
