Does anyone know a good source for chroming plastic? I have some 9-inch diameter plastic hubcaps for a Prowler GoKart that I would like to chrome... Only found one place so far...$50 each...hoping for something lower... Have considered 'chrome paint' but the two I have tried so far have come out looking like a good silver paint...not chrome looking at all... Suggestions? |

I was surprised at how many vendors were listed in a recent Hemmings Motor News. Try their web site and do a search, you might find one close by. www.hemmings.com. Good Luck, Gordon |

Bob: Had a go kart myself and was going to do something similiar after I had the factory actual car wheels polished, then needed go kart to match car (sold go kart, rode it 5 times -- what a waste of $$) Anyway .. better talk through what these are used for, hate to see you spend even $20 per wheel and have em all chip and crack when you go to put them on .. mine were VERY snug, shroming would have made them NOT fit. Just an FYI ... |

Got to have the part taped off where they "fit" on during the chroming process. Monte G knows a place for chrome on plastic in the San Fernando Valley |

Thanks, Ray...good tip... Quotes so far are $45 and $50 for each hubcap... Silver paint is sounding better everyday! (Still hoping for that $20 chrome quote though....) |
