I had mentioned last week that I was installing my third battery and was going to put in an Optima. When we were installing the battery we checked for an electrical drain and found one. Upon further inspection we found that the factory hood alarm switch had corroded and had "stuck open". This might be another area where we owners can look after. A quick cleaning and careful wire brushing the switch fixed the problem. JRL |

JRL, thanks for sharing that. I feel better knowing you had a specific problem causing the battery drain. It doesn't take long to drain a battery with a "short" does it? I had a wire that had the insulation worn thru and was touching the metal, draining my battery, years ago. |
