As I have just sold my Corvette, I now am down to the Kat and the Cobra. So the Kat is going to be getting more regular driving now. I drove it to work all week this week. The 1st thing I wanted to say was... Wow... the ride to work has never been more fun. I left the top up in the morning, but dropped it on the way home. What fun. It really made me feel great. I also found that the Kat gets about 18.5 mpg on my mixed hwy/cty drive. My Vette got 20mpg on the same drive... so no biggy. The A/C was of concern when I purchased my Kat.. well it works great! I mean it has been cooler then my other cars. The overheating thing was a concern too.... the other day I was in a drivethrough with the A/C on and being 90+ degrees I watched the temp gauge. It actually didnt move. I was there for around 10 min too. It stayed just below half the whole time. I also got caught in a good down pour one day.... just a couple minor drips got in. Not really bad though. All in all I am so happy with this car I can't put it to words. I was planning on driving it around 7k miles a year... but I dont think thats going to happen now. More... way more. ------------------ This message has been edited by C5 Frank on 07-20-2002 at 11:29 AM |

Welcome to the club! I drive my kat daily and most people just don't understand how I could use such a wonderful car as a daily driver. But you've discovered the secret too! Doesn't matter what my mood is when I wake up, the commute to work is never bad and I always arrive at the office with a big smile on my face. Keeps everyone wondering....lol. Same for the drive home - it could be a horrible day in the office but when I walk out, my 'cruise' home always relaxes me. Life's too short to try and save the car for special occasions. Every day is special - gotta make the most of them. Debbie This message has been edited by Catwoman on 07-20-2002 at 12:04 PM |

Catwoman - I agree 100% with your post. Frank - drive it and enjoy! I have been driving my wife's Avalon that is due to turned in at the end of a lease and still had about 2500 miles left before incurring any mileage charges. It is a nice car - rides and drives great, but it doesn't provide the "therapy" I get driving my KAT daily. At least I am getting a bunch of minor things done to the KAT while I have the third vehicle available. Happy Prowling Marty |

I've been drivin my kat to work daily for over a year now. Love every minute of it!! I have 11,600 miles and at least that many smiles!! And Frank, here in Vegas I've been stuck in traffic with temps 113 degrees, the temp gauge goes up a notch and that's it, even with the air on!! Drive it!!! Cruise it!! You'll enjoy it more and you give other poeple the chance to see something many have never seen... The Prowler!!!! Sold the Vette...time for a second Prowler? This would keep the mileage down. What color should we start looking for? Come on, garage space is such a terrible thing to waste! ------------------ |

Steve I would love another Kat. My girlfriend wants one. She loves either Black or MH blue. But I dont think it's in the cards right now. Business has been so-so. I do love my Kat though. PS Is that Viper new to you? ------------------ |

Hope business picks up. I would like to have a MH Blue myself. The '97 Viper was new, had it for 21 days, traded on a '02 GTS Graphite yesterday, the wife was not happy but she got over it. Like it a lot but the Prowler air conditioning is light years ahead of the Viper. ------------------ |

I drive my cats everywhere and every chance I get from March to late November, unless it is raining. They are in winter storage, however. Prowlers are the best attitude adjustment I've ever experienced!! |

Hi I am a newbie who hasn't even bought one yet, but I am close. I was concerned about this car being my daily driver, because I don't have the luxury of having a second car. This thread is encouraging. |

Mine was driven to work daily for over a year and a half. I had no problems except for the occasional times when more storage space was needed. Fortunately, my route is 95% expressway. Lately, I drive my Prowler about once or twice a week. ------------------ • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

Even as impractical as it is, I am going to drive my Prowler to work every day that I can. I am lucky to have protected parking and don't have to worry about parking it. I probably will drive it every day that I don't have to deal with clients. |

I drive mine every day as well. I completely agree about the therapy aspect. I used to always say that every one should have a convertible, but the Prowler ratchets that concept up a notch! Mike |

I try to drive my Mulholland at least one day a week, as long as there is no chance of rain. It's a 70 mile round trip to work, so there's a lot of fun that goes along with having the top down on a sunny Texas day. Only problem now is it's too HOT! The back of my shirt sticks to the seat and I start wishing for air conditioning! No rain Friday, looks like the Prowler is coming to work! ------------------ |
