As I am getting ready to drive to Texas later this week with new bra on my new trailer I have a question. If, as been posted here and printed on the instructions, it is recommended that you remove the bra after it gets wet driving in rain; what do you suggest if you get caught in a storm on a cross country trip and it clears up but you still want to drive several more hours? I don't want the paint to cloud from the bra drying on the trailer, but I certainly don't want to drive down the road with the car's 20" rear tires throwing mud and rocks onto the front of my trailer? The bra will not damage your paint if it gets wet. The clouding of the paint happens when you leave the bra on the car and it dries while still on the car. So, if it get's wet, just take it off the car when you get home, clean it off and let it air dry. |

fd911medic - I understand that scenario- driving home if I am in town. I am asking if I am driving to Texas straight through and run into a thunderstorm in Tennessee and still have 10 hours of driving, enough time for bra to dry on car (I think) - should I risk it drying or take it off and risk throwing rocks on the trailer? Thanks |

Marty you probably read my experience last year getting my bra wet going to Woodward. My hood fogged and I had to have it repainted. I did not and have not had a problem with the trailer bra. I don't understand why the only place that fogged was on the hood. However after my experince I will NOT be using the nose or hood bra again. The worst that could happen is that I have to get someting repainted again. And the paint job I have on the hood now has a much better clear coat on it. JMO ------------------

If there is anyone that gets moisture under the clear coat from a wet bra, there is a place in Toledo that has a machine that can remove it without painting. This guy does it on the side. He did a red corvette for a friend. Sassy |

Marty - I've been caught in rain with the bra on and couldn't take it off before drying - didn't have any problems. Just my experiences. ------------------ |

Thanks for responses. I guess I will take my chances and drive with bra on trailer, even if wet. Better to risk POSSIBLE clouding than definite rock dings!. Also, I could always just choose to leave bra on trailer all the time and hide any clouding, especaily since it is black. Marty |

Marty, buy a spare. When the first one gets wet leave it on until it quits raining for sure, remove it and put it in the trailer and put on the dry one. When you get to your destination you can dry out the first one. Option B, take a bottle of water with you and every hour or so you can wet down the bra so it does not dry out. ------------------ |

Alley, the fogging I had was very light and could only be seen from certain angles (wierd) I do not believe this would show on a silver car or any lighter color as much if at all.

Marty. I don't have a trailer. I've had my Prowler Bra get wet many times & a couple of times just sitting out in a rain storm... I've driven with it wet to get home. Than take it off immediately to dry. Most of those times it always been overcast until I got home... That's an interesting dilema with the trailer... I think I would leave the bra on the trailer. I think the problem comes in when the Sun is out & drying the Bra on the trailer. The only other precaution I would take is to carry an extra absorber to dry the bra when I got out of the rain. I would also use household "Pledge" on bra. In 2 & 1/2 years with my bra, I've not had any problems with the paint underneath the bra... ------------------ |

Ed - maybe I can get a set up like John Davies for thios back wheels where I could squirt water on the bra at will! That's juts what I need, another idea for a modification. Marty, My trailer has had the bra on it in the rain several times. It has dried on it a few times and has not hurt it. The heat from the motor might effect the the hood, but the trailer will dry slowly. If I'm on the road I take it off at night and take into the hotel room to dry overnight. Don't worry
