Thanks John, I just became aware that we had an outage this morning, but I can't seem to get any answers as to how long the outage was. I see that this post occurred at 9:39AM, so I can assume the site was back up then, but does anybody know when it went down earlier? I have an analogy that the internet and all its associated sites are similar to radio or TV stations. We depend on them being there 24-7 and any downtime is not really tolerable. When the site is down, we don't like it, and our service providers don't like it because if we're not happy, then we'll find a provider that can do a better job. It's their responsibility to keep this site on the air and if they can't do it to our satisfaction, we will find someone that can. Believe me, our provider is highly sensitive to this and motivated in keeping our business and are doing everything possible to keep downtime to a minimum. Unfortunately though, the internet is a little more complicated than a radio/TV station and with the internet, the infrastructure itself can go down and make a site unreachable to many or all parts of the country or world. This sort of outage is completely out of the control of any service provider and therefore we cannot hold them accountable for these sort of outages. We do have the tools to determine who's at fault it is, and make every effort to try and not point a finger at our service provider until we are absolutely certain the infrastructure is not at fault first. In this case today however, it was our provider. I understand that this mornings outage was related to a fix that was put in place by them very early this morning. This fix was to correct the problem we have been having adding new entrys or editing the Owners Registry. We will continue to work on this problem until it is resolved and appreciate your patience. Thank you, ------------------ |
