This past Saturday my wife and I took a drive through the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. On our way back to Hershey, where we store our Prowler, my wife spotted a Chrysler dealership off the highway and she said she saw a yellow Prowler in the showroom. I took the next exit and turned around hoping that it would be the new aztec gold which we had not seen in person yet. To get to the dealer there was only one access road and there were four dealerships right next to each other. We had to drive through a Hyundai and Nissan dealership to get to the Chrysler dealer. As I slowly drove through we noticed two salesmen with customers in the Nissan lot. We pulled in to the Chrysler dealer and right up to the showroom. It was an aztec gold! Looked better than I thought it would. My wife starting taking pictures. There was a salesman and sales manager watching us and they didn't even get up to approach us. They didn't notice what we pulled up in. Now the fun begins. The two couples, one with a teenage son, from the Nissan dealership followed us to the Chrysler dealership. They were all around our Prowler in stunned admiration. The two Nissan salesman stood at the edge of their lot and gawked. Next a Chrylser salesman pulls up with another couple that had just had a test drive in a Cirrus. I decided to head outside and everyone is asking this Chrysler salesman what kind of car this is and how much is it. You know, all the same questions. He tells them he doesn't know where it came from but they have a gold one inside. Everyone goes inside! He sees me and asks if it is mine. I say yes, my wife is outside now. We get in the Prowler and now the sales manager sees us and runs to the window probably wishing he had talked to us. Not that we could afford another one, but he doesn't know that! We sure get treated different when they see the Kat. Anyway, two couples that have probably never been in a Chrysler dealership got lured right in. Does any other car cause this kind of commotion? I don't know of one! ------------------ |

So.... why doesn't Chrysler's marketing department understand this? Seems like we the owners have been saying this for a long time. The cars don't sell because they aren't marketing them. ------------------ |

Bill & Lucy - glad you had a great time Prowlin'. You guys have way too much fun, there oughta be a law. Wait a minute...there is...kids. I for one, do not care if they market this car, build anymore (in any color), make commentary on this car in any rag or not. It was my personnal choice over all other makes and models in that price range. It's not a ______(fill in the blank, V8, quiet, smooth handling, etc.) car. It's a looker, plain and simple. It will be a classic, there are just too many people that simply like the way it looks. Everyone thought the Thunderbird was underpowered, now just owning one puts you in a different league, and anyone that owns a Prowler can already feel they are in a different league when driving it. ------------------ This message has been edited by MeanGene on 10-30-2001 at 10:42 AM |

Having been fortunate in my lifetime to have owned most all the "hot" sport's cars at one time or another, I can state categorically that the "Prowler", instantly, attracts more attention than any other sport's car/hot rod I've ever owned. The Prowler is absolutely destined to be a classic in every sense of the term. Any further questions about the Prowler's "attention-getting" attributes, refer to NJSilver's post of 10-29 about "The inevitable Fender Bender". That pretty much sum's it up. Name another car that can cause "things" like that to occure almost all the time! ------------------ This message has been edited by Harry Findley on 10-30-2001 at 12:03 PM |

It seems most car salesmen just think they are selling cars, and are locked inside their heads. They have trouble understanding that what the have in their showroom is a classic work of automotive art. ------------------ |
