To answer the tub question: The metal tag on the passenger's side is indeed the tub ID info that includes the part number and tub number. A paper tag also has the tub number on it and is located on the opposite side of the car near the hood hinge. The paper tag is just a temporary tag and will peal off and fade if it gets wet. ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat! |

Well, I guess I really do have the Prowler from HELL. I don't know which number I'll remember more now - the supposed number of production (517th), or the number of my Tub (PR000666). I guess I'll always have something ironic or funny to talk about, when it comes to my Prowler. Thanks for your assistance CJ! ------------------ This message has been edited by SPCL-T on 07-13-2001 at 02:56 AM |

Can I ask what is meant by the Tub Number? Also - how did you find out what number in the production line your kat was? That would be interesting information to know. ------------------ |

Be careful what you ask for guy's! It took me a couple of years and some very good contacts through friends to find out that mine was the 517th. I have #48 for the '99's, yet mine came out the 120th from the '99 model year. Which turned out to be #517th over all for the public production (???). All that I ask is that you take your time in finding out this info for when your car came out of CAAP. I owe someone an un-specified amount (of kindness) for the input I was given. CJ was not the person that provided the input to me! I got this from someone else when my car was being used for a trade show last year. Your VIN #'s do NOT mean the sequence that the car came off the assembly line. This was stated a long time ago on this thread. It sure would be nice that someone from the factory was paid for keeping track of when each care came off the assembly line, but they are not. Because the Prowler's are NOT sequential, the time it takes to research your question is very time consuming. Sorry for the "words to the wise," but I'm sure the boy's and girl's at CAAP will appreciate it. ------------------ |

Told the story about my Tub number to a guy at a small show this morning. The 1st words out of his mouth were that I have the Anti-Kat (as in the anti-Christ). He didn't even hesitate. I had to start laughing. I obviously thought that it was quite comical - The Anti-Kat. Should I get a new license plate, &/or change my screen name too? ------------------ |
