I am looking to purchase a New prowler. I found one a new 1999 red they want 39999.00 it has 20 miles on it. My question is How do they ride? How do they handle. I had heard that they break loose on turns. I have never driven one. The one I am looking at is 300 miles away. Are the 2000 and 2001 better riding cars than the 1999. Is there a suspension change from the 1999 to the 2000 or 2001. thanks for your time. |

there are 13 0r 14 prowler owners registered in PA. Get on the owners registry on this site and e mail the one closest to you asking for a ride explaining your problem. If you want to cruze to NY, I'll give you a ride in a 2000. BTW, the 2000-2001 are smoother riders then the 99, but all can be changed to update to the later stuff. Maybe this can be used as a bargain point to the dealer your talking to. ------------------ This message has been edited by butchcee on 04-07-2001 at 03:52 AM |

Thanks I might just take you up on it. I have been looking for a yellow one(FAVORITE COLOR) cannot find one somewhat close. The local dealer in Hamburg Pa. called me today and said he found one about 200 miles away but he would not tell me where it was. He wants full window it is a 2000. |

Hey if he meant MSRP for a 2000 Yellow, I would think that is a good deal, at least out here in CA. ------------------ |

Vipers95 - I came here recently asking advice about where to buy a prowler and EVERYONE here was (and still is) very helpful! I ended up buying mine from Latham Motors in Idaho and had it shipped to me - very reasonable too. Give Eric Lee a call at Latham Motors (there is a link off the homepage here)and see if he has a yellow one. Good Luck! ------------------ |

Yep... I really suggest staying with the 2000 or 2001 models... MSRP or below is easily had, but you might have to travel or ship it. While a Prowler is not a viper, or high end sports car. All 3 of mine do 40 MPH turns at 75MPH without even hinting they are having a problem. How fast you want to go anyhow? Any car will break loose in a turn if you push hard enough. As the Texas run prooved... stick a blower on or some NOS and do mid 12's... how fast you want? ------------------ |
