What type of mud flaps should I order? From who? dealer?
Would my husband be able to put them on or should the dealer? I read about this sometime ago, before I knew much about Prowler's and definitely need them on the front. Y'all mentioned something about "cutting" 1 and 1/2 inches off. What do you cut this off with?

You can get them from your local dealer, you can do them yourself or have the dealer install.

Personally, I have not cut off the flaps.....and I have had NO problems. You just need to be careful going up and down steep curbs and speed bumps. But cutting them is also a preference.

GO with the ones from the dealer. Very easy to put on your self. Some people cut off about 2 inches off the front flaps before installing to prevent pulling the front fender in case of backing over small bumps and getting caught between bump and tire. I didn't cut mine and haven't had any problems, but I'm carefull. They look GREAT.

If you could see the side of my Red Kat, you would think long and hard about not cutting any of at all.

I would rather buy a new fender than repainting both rocker panels.

Jill,
you can get the mud flaps from your dealer your husband can put them on ,very easy to do.as far as cutting them you will get different views, in my opinion leave them alone just be careful over bumps and backing up in uneven surfaces.

Go with both front and rear factory flaps, easy to put on yourself, but get a 10 MM wrench to do this with additional lock washers and flat washers, or they come loose. Personally, I have my dealer install them to just give them the business. I would suggest you do not cut them, cutting them does not look as good (my opinion), and they do not work as well.

Gary and David,

Thanks Gary for the license inf.

I bought a Woodward #54. It is magnificent!! I debated for a long time over a yellow one or this one. I found two places that had a Woodward. I couldn't get them down enough at one dealer and they were giving me a great price on the yellow one. Went to the other dealer, did some research work and found out that they were eager to sell it and I "worked" on that angle. They just thought they were going to get a lot more money for that model and they didn't and got stuck with it. The Houston River Oaks dealer told me a couple of weeks ago that he gave one away to charity for a raffle. Couldn't sell it!! Think they had them marked too high.
