I apologize for not remembering the Kat owner who just ran at 13.2, but remember he was supercharged. Has anyone run faster than 13.2 sec? Maybe at the Moroso Power Festival on Feb 24th, we can find a quicker Kat...some have both NOS & Superchargers...maybe get down to mid 12's??? I want to be able to prove that the Prowler is a performance machine as well as the best looking car ever mass produced, while the magazine editors are in attendance. |

Joe, the 13.2 was from Rich Tilden. The fastest time belongs to Mike K. 12.8. That was on a day outside temp was 105 or so & track temp measured by John Hennesey of 151. In the one head to head Mike & I had that day he beat me by one full sec. Not trying to put pressure on Mike, but, I think Mike will break the 12.0 sec barrier now on a friendly weather day... Fred & Warren each had 13.1s on that same day. My best was 13.6 that day. I have done 13.4s on another day with cooler temps back in Sept ... ------------------ |

Excellent! Damn good time....12.8 (at 105 degrees) I think Mike can get 12.0 on nice cool day too.

Mike's time is 12.84 ET 106.8 MPH, with the crappy weather, try this link Mike sent me and put some good weather numbers and see how fast he would have gone with his old setup on a good weather day. ------------------ This message has been edited by Gary C on 01-12-2001 at 12:14 PM |

BTW, in the first four months of owning the Red Kat I was on a 133.1666 Miles per day pace. But now those days are over, getting a truck and trailer for the Leopard Cat. ------------------ |

The link came up, but wouldn't respond to the input. A question?-How much $ do you think it would take to get a Prowler from stock SOLIDLY into the 11s? My guess is around 18k with others doing the work---blower, bottle, gears, possible SuperChips mods, exhaust, tires, rims, etc. What do you think? ------------------ |

My guess is until the chip problem is solved 11 seconds will be very hard to achieve. There still is the issue of roll bar and 4 point seat harness. Also, I think the cars stability at high speeds is also in need of attention ------------------ This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 01-13-2001 at 01:00 AM |

John, no, having been in a situation on the "Grape Vine" here... I was doing 75 against a 75 MPH wind with GUSTS. The windier it got, the BETTER the car handled!!! She shrank right down and went right up the hill! Equal to 150 MPH plus! ------------------ |

Todd, I understand about 75mph in winds. I'm talking about taking this car to 115mph plus. Been there, I put braces on after the first time. Its better but still a adventure. This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 01-13-2001 at 12:39 PM |

Having driven in the 120-125 MPH range and have tens of thousands of miles of drive time, I would be standing with my mouth open in shock if may Kat performed differently at a real 120 as it did under the wind and speed conditions I was under, one day I shall "proove" this theory. ------------------ |
