Hey guys,

I'm wondering if this is normal with the Prowlers. I've noticed when driving on the interstate or any speed over about 65-70 mph the front end just seems to want to hop around. Looking at the car it seems the engine is so far back that it doesn't really help "ground" the front end of the car.

Has anyone else noticed the loose feeling when driving on the interstate?

I had the same thing, even after new tires.
My prowler needed alignment.
Only thing not out of spec was rear camber.

I have not noticed the front end being loose or light up to as high as 110. I have heard that when you get over 120 it does start to float some. I have run at 80 for long intervals when traveling out west.

Do you have a wonder bar on the car. By Larry Lord.
Wonder if that might help a bit.
My car seems like that to.
No I don't have wonder bar yet.....robin

I would start with an alignment.
I had an alignment done on my car after a couple thousand miles and was amazed at how much better it behaved, even though there was no problem to begin with.

A Larry Lord Wonderbar (swaybar) will fix that problem.

A simple aluminum cross bar also helps reduce the "shake", but as has been said here, up to 80ish, no "float" at all.

Jumpy, yes, but that is the ride in this kind of car.

Always look at your tread - that WILL tell you if an alignment is needed.

My 99 was like a jumping bean on the Highway the couple times I drove it last fall.

Over the winter I installed the WonderBar, I made a crossbar and installed Spoons stabilizer links. Sticks to the road now and handles much better. Runflats are the next to go and ride should be ever better.

Get rid of the old run flats, get a good 4 wheel alignment, and install Larry Lord's Wonder Bar......that should take care of the issues.....

Dave you will see another big improvement when you install regular tires. Here is something I never heard mentioned on this forum. The Wonder Bar takes care of the front end of the car but when you put four new tires on you are now including the rear of the car.

I'm having the same problem. I have purchased Spoons stabilizer links but not installed them yet. I plan on getting a wonderbar and an alignment as soon as I can hope that will take care of it. Just not enough hours in the day for work and play.

The wonderbar definitely helps but the biggest improvement is the new non runflats. That should be the first change made, especially if the tires are old.

Great point. I just need to decide what brand to go with. Not to get off subject but the stock speakers suck also, Driving me Loco. They will be the next to go also.

Those old speakers dry rot. My dash speakers were literally falling apart. I don't care to play a radio when I drive but my wife loves her music. The dash is very easy to remove. So far I have done the door and dash speakers.
