Before I do the big 4 upgrade
((((For those that don't know that would be upgrading your electrical system and running a bigger gauge wire from:
-battery + pos terminal to positive post of alternator
-battery - neg terminal to chassis
-chassis to ground bolt of alternator
-chassis to engine block))))

I'd like to know the following:

What does the forum members kat's show for battery voltage when they are idling?
What happens when you turn your ac on?
Then while ac is on, turn on your headlights push and hold window up button...

does your voltage gauge read around 11.9 volts after doing the above?

Side note:

I've found that the wires coming from the positive terminal of battery go to a fuse box then from fuse box to the alternator. I plan on bypassing that and running a strand straight from battery to the alternator. I will leave the stock wires alone and still intact.

My question is where is a good place, in your opinion to attach the wire coming from the chassis to the engine block?

I've planned all my other routes but I haven't lifted the car up to find a good place on the engine block. Any advice would be appreciated.

Cuz 13.7 was taken and 13.8 would make for a better YouTube video

Cat, you're telling me that you see no drop in voltage on the voltage gauge located on dash when you have the car on, in park, lights on, ac on, and you're holding the power window button up?

Here is a handy little gadget that will give you a digital readout on what the electrical system is doing. I am assuming you are getting your numbers from the gauge in the car.

Correct, I will attach multimeter later today and test. Just strange the volt gauge in car drops so low

If you have a normally charged battery, the gage should read 13.8 almost always, maybe a slight increase for a few seconds when you first start the car. The engine does not have to rev to increase voltage. Generators from days gone by charged more when the rpm went up.Those days are gone forever.
