Did anybody see the 97 Prowler go through the sale on TV last night. I think it sold for $28,000. They said some nice things about Prowlers. They are going to sell a 65 Cobra tonight and are saying it will go for 10 million+.
Our local Corvette club is doing all the driving for the 4 day sale. I'm going to be driving all day Saturday and Sunday and hope to get a chance to drive some nice cars ( they have 1250 they are selling ).

...spent the day there...some very nice and super rare cars were on display

...Prowler note...saw a silver Kat with 25K miles, nice car over all with terrible wheels, worst set I have ever seen...car bid to $25K, reserve was $28K

Where were you? I never seen TUIB, I drove the silver and Purple Prowler across the block, left card in both cars with POA site. The 97 was sold to older guy that is on the big side. He wanted to sit in the silver to see if he fit then bought the 97.

Larry is right on the wheels on the 2000. It came out of Kansas but forget the original owners name, it had not been well maintained, top had a few bad places from closing the decklid with top in latch. Deck lid way out of adjustment and hard to latch.

Both were dealer cars.

I got to drive a 1952 Bus converted to MH in 61, this was cool. There was a collection of over 50 vehicles sold at no reserve to settle the Safro estate, one of the 50+.

74 VW with 513 miles

1994 Ford concept dually

1949 Plymouth woody wagon

Yesterday a Superbird in sub lime green sold for $75,000

a 69 RR convertible sold for $29,000, these were clean cars and what I thought to be good buys

One more day, then vacation is over and I have to go back to work...............LOL

Merle was there today, was good to see him again

The guy I work for part-time put a car in the auction. It cost him $ 1000 to have it in the auction. If it sells they get a percentage, also.
It turns out the auction company has plants in the audience keeping the price moving up. If their guy bids and no one goes above it, YOUR CAR DIDN'T SELL, sorry about your luck. Mecum does not buy the car even though they had the high bid. I don't think I would ever deal with those guys.
He told me this yesterday and he is not one to make up stories to hear himself talk. He had sent me some pics last week or two weeks ago from the auction.

Gad, I would think that all the auctions have ringers. Of course I am somewhat of a pessimist myself.
See you in about 10 days and looking forward to it, of course.
