I've posted pics in the 2009 Events Scrapbook. I drove from Hester to St. Louis to meet up & join road gang on Fri. Jul 3rd. Traveled two legs with group to Springfield, Mo. and unto Broken Arrow, OK. and than returned to LA. following Steve until I headed south in Little Rock. It was Fantastic time and enjoyed the company. Thanks To Mel & Jane Beyes and Rick Beyes for meeting me in St. Louis and leading us to Pete Drewes for concrete ice scream. Thanks to all the gang Jim & Kathi Stallings, Larry Lord & Sandy, Mike & Lori Rutherford, Vince & Tony Buono (my soninlaw), Mike & karen Gatlin and Steve Clark. Nice to have seen Larry & Sue Mayes, Brian, Scotty in St. Louis. Meet Bob Jones & Larry Thistlewhite in OK. Here's couple of pics... World's Largest Rocker
This is Gary the owner of Gap Parita. He bought this from his brotherinlaw 5 years ago after retiring as train robber from Knotts Berry Farm. We spent 1&1/2 hours listening to his stories and tips on route 66 after he gave us all a route 66 root beer...

Great job to Mike & Karen they have some awesome picks. Can't wait to see the video. Wish we could have went the whole way with you guys. We met some new people the three days we traveled with you guys. That's what these cars are all about. Fun, good friends, and fellowship. Thanks to Jim & Kathy for inviting us on there vacation.

It's been a great vacation so far and we're not done yet. The rest of the story regarding Lowell Davis and Red Oak II, Some of you may remember a magazine from the late 60s and early 70s named "Sex to Sexty". It was a comic book style magazine that was pretty racey. Sort of an r-rated version of Mad Magazine. Lowell Davis was the illustrator for that magazine but used the name Pierre on his artwork to avoid the evil stares and gossip in his small town. He's now well known and the town loves him but in the early days would have been tarred and feathered if they knew what he was doing. A picture of Lowell and some of his cover artwork is below. Do a Google search for Lowell Davis, Red Oak, MO when you get a chance and you will find some of his amazing work. The crapduster is only one of a few. Michael T and Kim, GoatBob, Larry ? I didn't mean to leave you out but I cannot remember your last name. Inca Gold that we met at the Blue Whale. Nice guy but just way too responsible to take a week or two off to run away with us.
