Removing the baffles should have no effect on your warranty. Even if it did, I doubt the dealer/service tech would ever notice you have removbed them unless you told them.

I am thinking of this also. Is it a difficult job. I'm a little snow bound right now.

Tom, I did not remove mine but you have to remove two rivets from each tailpipe and simply pull out the baffles. Some baffles are a little tougher to pull out than others. You may need to grab them with a vice grip. Make sure after you grind off, or drill out, the rivet that it is completely inside the baffle before attempting to pull out the baffle. You may have to gently punch it.

Thanks Ed. It seems like maybe even I could do that.

Tom, these two rivets are on the top of the tail pipe. At first I thought everyone was talking about the four spot welds in the end of the tailpipe. I couldn't understand why I had four and everyone else had two.

Thanks for the tip Ed. Will this make it just louder or make it more of a throaty sound?

Alittle of both! You will like the sound over the baffle tone.

Good luck

A little more throaty when you "get on it".

At idle, not much diff. Throatier (is that a word?) when you reach mid to high rpms.

Eddie, I took mine out a little while ago but it did not give me the sound I was looking for. Yes, it will add a little deeper sound, but not to the extent of what I was looking for. I also tried going straight pipe with the Baffles in but that didn't do the trick either. The last process I tried was to put "2" 24 inch glass-packs on it, and "BOOM", that was the sound I was looking for. Just to add a little more gurgle sound to it I replaced my tips this past weekend with higher performance tips (which really added a lot.)

Below are the links if you want to hear what my Kat sounds like prior to replacing the tips (I will be posting new animations later this week with the new tips on).
