Just picked up my red Prowler and some pine pitch has gotten all over the paint and windshield. Can anyone advise us on the best way to remove it before it permanently damages the paint finish? Speed is of the utmost importance...Thanks!! Mike |

OUCH! STOP! DON'T DO ANYTHING HASTY! Before you do anything abrasive (polish) or chemical (tar and pitch remover, mineral spirits) try the least aggressive approach first - that would be claybar with lubricant. The most expedient way to buy this is to pick up a Mother's Clay Bar Kit from just about anywhere. I have used this quite successfully to clean off tar spots - there's no abrasiveness or chemical action, it works with the lubricant to create a suction with the finish and shears the deposits off without ever touching the finish. Either use the detailer in the kit as a lubricant if you use wax on your car or use concentrated Zaino carwash (1 cap per quart) if you use their products (and toss the detailer and wax that comes in the kit). You can't believe the amount of c$%p that comes off with the claybar even if you start with a "clean" car. If this doesn't work (I'm confident that it will), you didn't lose anything and can then try the more aggreessive (and potentially damaging) approaches. - GRROWL |

Thanks to everyone!!! The red kat is free of the dreaded pine pitch with some tips from you and some carefully applied elbow grease. A lesson learned for sure..."Don't park under or around pine trees"!! Thanks again... Mike |
