How far is the caap from our hotel the homestead ? Is there going to be transportation for us that are going to the tribute that down not have a ride ?? Thanks ...Sheila ------------------ |

Sheila, There will be "a few" seats available between all the cars we will have there. I'd recommend being in the hotel lobby earlier than the "departure time" (yet to be determined right now)to be sure you are taken care of. ------------------ |

Not sure of the time to meet in the Lobby ? Is it that far to the caap ? We are off at 7:00 am tommorow morning , in at 9:42pm tommorow night.Will check back tonight yet , if there is a time to meet ..Sheila ------------------ |

Hi Folks I will have room for 2 to take to the CAAP tour from the hotel. I and Darren should arrive at about 10:00pm Thursday. Maybe we can all meet in the lobby at 9:00am Friday and set something up with all those who have driven in. You meet the nicest people this way. OK Ed you and Larry can drive together. I will be at the hotel at 9:00 a.m. At that time, we will coordinate rides, etc. I will post an itinerary later this evening. I will also pass out copies when we meet Friday morning. |

I plan on meeting everyone at the plant.. I am staying at a different hotel in Detroit. I know the plant is on Conner St, but does anyone have the EXACT address? I'm leaving my house for the airport at 9:30am so a quick reply will be appreciated. Also if anyone has directions there from Renaissance Center, I could use them! Thanks, ------------------ |

Ron, I do not know the exact address but there is a huge DC plant on Conner but the Conner Ave Assy. Plant is about 5 miles north of that main plant. It is north of the CITY airport, the municipal airport, not the International airport. There is a huge cemetery just before you get to the plant. The plant is on a street that appears to be a side street since the main street makes a left hand curve and changes names. There is a hospital right there. I hope that helps until real help arrives. Conner Avenue is east of Van Dyke Avenue off of 8 Mile Road. If you are coming fromt the East, you will have to do one of those Michigan left turn-arounds just past Van Dyke by going west on 8 mile turning so that you are headed east on 8 mile road. The first street past Van Dyke is Bramford. Turn right on Bramford and immediately veer to the left onto Conner Avenue (it veers off of Bramford on an angle to the left). There is a Citgo gas station on that corner where you turn right. Continue on Conner Avenue for a short distance and the plant will be on your left. Turn left into the driveway just past the big blue sign that says DaimlerChrysler Conner Avenue Assembly. Proceed to the guard station and tell them you are here for the Prowler event. They will wave you into the parking lot. Check back at the station to see if they want you to sign in. Enter the building and we will be in the front lobby. If you are coming from west down 8 mile (you won't have to do the Michigan left turn-around thing), follow those directions as you approach Van Dyke Avenue.
