1. LOTS OF SUNSCREEN - Remember that Denver is a mile above sea level and closer to the sun. When we travel through the high country, you’re even that much more exposed to the sun’s rays! 2. Wearing a HAT or VISOR is a good idea also. It will keep your head cooler and your body temperature lower. 3. SUNGLASSES - A definite must!!! 4. WATER - Drink lots of water to keep from getting dehydrated. Colorado's climate is very dry. However, as tempting as those mountain streams look, DO NOT drink the water out of the mountains streams. 5. Be sure to bring at least a light to medium weight JACKET. It can be 90 degrees in the valley or even 70 or 80 in the mountains, but when traveling over some of the particularly high passes the difference in temperature can be significant. The summit of Trail Ridge Road tends to be windy and it can get pretty chilly up there. 6. ALTITUDE SICKNESS - Keep in mind while we are traveling the high country that your body is not acclimated to the high altitudes. Walking around in these altitudes can cause a person to become lightheaded and/or nauseous. Please be cautious and sensible. Running around at high altitudes is not recommended if you are not acclimated. 7. RADIOS - If you have them, please bring them. It definitely makes catavaning a lot easier and safer. 8. CAMERAS, video cameras, flash cards and film, batteries and chargers!!! I guarantee you all will be taking a LOT of pictures!!!! Be prepared! 9. MUSIC............for cruisin’!!!!! 10. INFO PACKET.............we will be providing to you at registration, an information packet. It will include route directions for the various cruises, maps, itineraries and the like. We will also be providing to you a handy, dandy list of phone numbers you might want to keep with you! It will include the hotel number and the cell phone numbers of all of the event planners, should you have any questions or problems! 11. Don’t forget to have cash for any PARK ENTRANCE FEES that will need to be paid! In addition, we are planning a meeting for all attendees after dinner on Thursday (check-in day). It is important that everyoneattend. You will be meeting the event hosts, it will be a time for questions and answers and information. I will also be handing out the event shirts at this time. We will let you know the time of the meeting at check-in!! Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! www.centralautobody.comprwlyn CJ, Marc mentioned to me that the Texas crowd, living in very high humidity, may want to bring plenty of skin lotion as the skin tends to dry out quickly in the dry air up there...
