alrtg Today I had a third set of tires installed on the car.
IF the EMT was still an option, I for one would have bought them again, if for nothing else, for the peace of mind having them would afford me.
Back in 2010 I replaced the original Goodyear EMT tires with a new set from the last run of EMT's that were made in 2008.
After a lot of research, I went with Continential ContiSportContact� 5 tires this time around. They were just under $950.00 installed.
The Pirelli P Zero's were my second choice.
Previously I purchased a Coleman Powersport 12V pump to carry in my cars. I have one in my daily driver and have found it works well.
I was going to replace the rear wheels with a pair that isn't flaking badly on the inner barrels but the TPMS units in the original wheels would not cooperate.
Now that I no longer have runflat tires on the car, I feel having functioning TPMS is more important so I elected to retain the flaking wheels for now.
I will now be researching plug and play options for the TPMS. Maybe once I find a solution, I'll swap the wheels and program the new TPMS as needed.
I can't expect the current units to work much longer.
alrtg Old front tires.
Old rear tires.
New front tires.
New rear tires.
New tires installed.
alrtg Coleman Tire Pump.
It plugs into the power outlet/lighter socket or can be hooked direct to the battery using clips.

dskatt I just installed these and so far they are doing the job just fine. I get tire pressure and temperature for each tire with an alarm that sounds when either exceeds the limits I programed . RPL Been looking at the Continetial's myself. They appear to be the best choice.

To date, all of the Prowlers I have seen with the Continental brand tires have had the "Extreme Contact" version. I didn't care for the tread design and was giving serious consideration to the Pirelli P Zero's until I stumbled across the Continental ContiSportContact� 5 tires.
The attached photo is a generic representation of the Continental Extreme Contact tread.

bryancobb I'm tellin'y'all...The NITTO 555's are da' bomb. They may not last long. The jury is still out on that one but they ride G R E A T and look awesome! The correct sizes are available. Best thing, they are only $700 installed.

alrtg I saw a set of the Nitto's a few month's ago and like them better than the Continental Extreme Contact tire but as you can see, went with the Continental ContiSportContact� 5 tires. My second choice would have been the Pirelli P Zero,and third choice could have been the Nitto's.
At this point, we have at least four choices that come in OE sizes for our cars. Had EMT Run Flat's been one of the choices, I would have purchased them, rough ride and all.
BeWare We have the Continental Extreme contact and I am very happy with them. They performed exceptionally well on both The Tail of the Dragon and The Devils Triangle last year. Lots of grip. I think it might have been the fastest I have ever run the Dragon. We were all alone and just before dark and hardly anyone was on the road. This was also the first time we ran the Dragon south to north. Overall this was our fourth time.
It was our first time on the Triangle. Hope it also wasn't the last.

And I did the same with the extreme's on mine...but I have 555's on woodward and must say they are as good or better...and totally agree Rich with both triangle and dragon...GOT TO DO THEM AGAIN..was my 1st.
Maybe Marty and Joe can find us something close in texas next year,,,,,

there will be some nice curvy roads on some of the cruise routes and we can certainly provide info on the best curvy/cruisin' roads that will be about a 5 hour drive total round trip for anyone or group that may want to do that on their own. The portion of the Hill Country with ....in my opinion....the best twisties in Texas is just a bit too far to take a whole group considering that some people may not like the long seat time....there WILL BE options you will enjoy!
