VinceM | Santa brought me a surprise this year. My Prowler had a complete custom leather interior done by Bill Dunn Custom Upholstery Shop in Huntington Beach CA. This shop has been to SEMA with custom cars for a number of years and was featured on many episodes of the TV show Overhaulin. They installed a silver grey leather as the primary color with a medium blue for the seat inserts and door panels. An added touch they installed seat heater/coolers in both seats which should make driving non hot summer days much more pleasant. garysss | It looks awesome!! Dare I ask a round about price? |
VinceM | The shop asked that I not reveal the cost since every car/owner are different. |
mslc10 | Very nice!! Tell me about the subwoofer/waterfall..... |
VinceM | Sub and all the speakers are JBL. The Waterfall i.e. speaker box was custom made out of sturdy MDF ( for sound purposes) and then finished in fiberglass for painting. Any good audio shop should be able to make the box to fit the car. |
padroo | Very classy. |
ed monahan | Looking good. |
DublinOH | Very nice looking. |
alrtg | That looks great. I do have one concern, and that would be the air bag on the steering wheel. My concern would be if the covering would in any way interfere with the operation of the air bag if it were to deploy. My hope is that a professional shop such as they probably are, would not cover it unless they knew without a doubt it would be safe to do so. My other hope is that as difficult to find as the correct air bag is for our cars, that maybe someone had the foresight to cover one with a Jeep logo instead of the OE unit with the Prower logo on it? All in all, I think that the interior looks absolutely terrific and I am happy to see folks daring to be different. |
VinceM | I too had a concern with covering both air bags. They explained the process they use is to thin the backside of the material to ensure proper airbag deployment. This shop has been doing this kind of custom work for a number of years so I felt comfortable with their process. I don’t understand the comment on a Jeep logo. Maybe I missed something. Please clarify |
401KAT | He's trying to say hoped they took a bag out of jeep (which are plentiful)and covered it so you could keep the stock prowler bag(hard to find) for later ..Love the interior by the way....jim This message has been edited by 401KAT on 12-29-2017 at 06:49 PM |
VinceM | Now I see the point. Didn’t know or think of it. Plus, my car hasn’t been even close to stock for many years and I have no intention to making it stock again. I’ll let my heirs worry about it This message has been edited by VinceM on 12-31-2017 at 05:12 PM |

cnote6 | Looks great! |
Terry | Though it's not the best for safety, I really like the non-headrest look of the old hot rods. Very nice |
BeWare | Looks awesome. |
VinceM | I spoke with the owner of a local detailer shop to find out what product(s) I could use to keep my leather interior clean, conditioned and keep the matte look. I found other well know leather care products tend to leave a shine. He recommended Dr Beasley’s Leather Cream. It works pretty good so far. They also have a complete line of car care products. |
