| VinceM | I found a another solution to prevent hitting the nose on those low curbs. Usually I back in to a parking spot or have the wife get out and guide me so I don't hit anything. But this product is from the UK and claimed to work through plastic bumpers. No holes have to be drilled and nothing is visible on the outside of the car. I emailed the company and verified that it would work on the front nose fascia of the Prowler. Since the product was designed for a bumper all the instructions were geared to that so I had adapt/adjust it some to fit in the nose of the Prowler. Overall, not too tough of an install, you just have to think through it. I've had it installed now for about two weeks and the product works as advertised. The total cost was $125.00 which, to me, is a lot cheaper than repairing/repainting the nose. just a question....how does the installation work....is it a easy installation which everbody can do at home ?

| VinceM | The two hardest parts of the install for me were deciding where to mount the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and how to route the wires into the car compartment near the dash. I mounted the ECU on the frame just in front of the battery. The frame cover I have hides it and should shield it from rain. I mounted the ECU there since the wire from the ECU to the antenna lead wasn't long enough to mount it inside the engine compartment and I didn't want to make a splice in that area to add more wire. Plus I was concerned about the heat in the engine compartment. I then cut the antenna to ~ 12 inch length and installed it inside the nose about 8 inches above the ground. I couldn't find an easy way through the fire wall so I routed the wires along the drivers side of the engine compartment following the hood release cable. In stead of going through the firewire I took the drivers side engine panel off and went through one of the rubber plugs on the side of the firewall just in front of the door. I snaked the wires through another rubber plug on the inside just under the left kick panel. From there I routed the wires up and under the panel below the steering column. I then used a quick splice into the hot wire off the tach for power. I then drilled a small hole in the panel just below steering column for the off/on button and mounted the small speaker on the side of the same panel. After everything was installed and tested OK I put all the wires in a wire loom to clean up the appearance. |

| fibertop | Vince, thanks for posting this. I just installed it and it seems to work great! I mounted my ecu on the front of the bumper mount bracket. I took out the battery, battery tray and horns to get better access to the chin. I was able to put about 24" of antenna. As for going through the fire wall, I poked a hole in the wiring conduit boot right behind the master cylinder and with the wiring loom, it looks good and has a good seal. I mounted the speaker on a steel bracket just above the brake pedal to the left and the button I put above the auto volume switch. Pretty smooth install took about 2 hours.

| VinceM | I started out with the about 24 inches of antenna in the nose. I would get alert signals for obstructions that were off to the side of the car vs. directly in front of the nose. I cut the antenna down to about 6 inches and now I only get alerts for things directly in front of the nose which could cause damage. |

| VinceM | My parking sensor has been installed for almost 9 years now and it works flawlessly. I only installed the sensor in the nose since that is the area most prone to damage if you miss judge the distance to a curb or don’t have a second person to guide you in. |

| Beachkat2 | The antenna is a metallic tape that sticks along the inside of the nose. There are no parts visible from the outside. |
