xpguyWell, I finally got a day to myself and got a project done. Several months ago I picked up a Reverse Obstruction Alarm kit off eBay. After testing on an old bumper, I got the courage to put it on the Kat. The bumper is actually a perfect configuration for the sensors, and the readout fits nicely on the dash and I put the audible alarm on the back wall by the CD changer. Then I tried it and was very pleasantly surprised when it actually worked! Unfortunately, the flash on the camera makes the sensors stand out more than they really do. In the daylight you cannot even tell they are there.

tangled up in BLUEnice work....looks factory....

ps...I still just back up till I hear "watch where you're going you stupid A$$hole"...then I put it in drive and motor away

pumpkinReal nice mod, looks original.

Great job. Can't hardly tell the unit is there.
stevedymoI see you have a hitch. If a trailer is hooked up do you
get a false alarm?? A Weekender might not bother the sensors.
Just curious.

xpguyThe sensors only activate when the car is in reverse. I am sure a trailer will freak it out, so backing with a trailer will surely be annoying. I have a weekender on its way so I will have to see what happens with that. I have the PT cruiser luggage rack and will try that later today. I am still researching trailers.

I backed into my spot at work this morning using only the side mirrors. So simple and in perfect distance from the wall. Love it.

mysticspotYou should have mounted it on the front bumpers to keep from scraping the nose!

ed monahanXPGuy, backing up with a Prowler trailer is a real challenge. You cannot see the trailer until it is starting to jack knife. The tongue is so short that it is really hard to back up, but can be done.
xpguyOkay, backed up the trailer for the first time today. Still got to say it is a decent mod. The weekender does not interfere at all.

If interested, here is the place I got them on eBay.
