The new holiday is "commemorative" only and not a paid holiday.

ALLEY CATNo,, I didn't read it word for word. I didn't say that state government workers would be paid for the day off work.....but the state lawmakers were paid to waste their time and taxpayer dollars passing this legislation.

Just a matter of time before it becomes a state 'paid holiday',,,after the protests and riots take place in kill-happy Chicago.

It's racist to have a state holiday that doesn't pay its government employees for a day off holiday.....
