bjprowlerMy initial reaction is of grief and loss for this great Christian...

But can you just imagine the moment when Billy meets Jesus in heaven?.....That thought brings me great joy...I just wish I could have been there to see it....

reecheeIt's too bad he couldn't pass on his decency to his son. Franklin is just like the other scamming in it for the buck preachers.
LSKHere goes Reechee again, pulling facts out of his rear end.
reechee Excerpts from USA today
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2018/02/21/franklin -graham-billy-graham-legacy-replacefather/858401001/

He has called for boycotts on businesses that use gay couples in advertisements and blasts the separation of church and state as the godless successor to Cold War communism.

His father, while providing comfort and prayer to 12 presidents, said he learned his lesson years ago to stay out of public politics.

Where Graham sees himself standing by biblical truth, others see his words as bordering on hate speech and calls for discrimination, particularly toward Muslims and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

And excerpts from Time:
http://time.com/5168972/billy-graham-dead-donald-trump/

Billy Graham was a beloved family member for evangelicals who shaped their daily lives around devotion to Jesus. He stood for unity across Christian traditions and across political divides. He represented gentleness, and he asked nations to be better.

His son Franklin Graham represents a very different way.

Franklin Graham, the heir to his religious empire, has risen to prominence by embracing the divisions of our time.

bjprowlerNote to self:

.....Don't let Reechee write your epitaph

reecheeBJ

For you it would be nothing but bunnies and butterflies. I watched as you were pilloried by members of your own political tribe because you had the temerity to support the candidacy of your home state governor, who seems to be a reasonable and honorable man. You were not following in lockstep with the braying hounds salivating, not to unite the country but to punish those who do not agree with them. Therefore, you were called a RINO and far worse. Yet, you agree with them on 99% of most issues but you were not pure enough.

The attacks on your personal habits and character were to borrow a word, deplorable. I restrained myself from ever coming to your defense because I knew that would only encourage them to attack you more.

You have to wonder about those who resort to insulting complete strangers who do not see the world the same way they do. Personal attacks show the paucity of their arguments. It is easier to insult than make a reasoned response. Would they do that in a public setting. I doubt it. Yet these are often the same people who decry the decline of morality in our country while simultaneously debasing the level of discourse while online.

bjprowlerReechee....I was referring to the fact that MY initial post was simply to eulogize and say that Rev Graham was a wonderful man and that he had passed away.

And then, for some reason you began to attack HIS SON.....HUH????

The post had NOTHING to do with his son and so I thought; "GEEZE! When I die, I wouldn't want you to write MY epitaph since my great-great grand pappy was a moonshiner!"

If you did, it would probably say something like:

"BJ was a kind and generous man who did a lifetime of good deeds....But his great great grand pappy was a low-down scoundrel that made moonshine liquor in the hills of Virginia back in the 1900's and shot a couple of good old boys that were tryin' to arrest him"

My response to your post was meant to be "tongue-in-cheek humor" and not a personal attack on you....
