Gort | In a couple of weeks the 2015s will be out. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2013/11/19/2015-ford-mustang-to-debut-december-5th/?intcmp=features |
ed monahan | Wow, that is pretty blah, in my opinion. |
ALLEY CAT | . . . . Appears to have lots of FORD Fusion in it,,,,which is a hot selling item in itself. New engine as well > 4 banger, 2.0L turbo, putting out same horses as the aluminum 3.5L Prowler V6... Those outside mirrors have MUsher written all over them This message has been edited by ALLEY CAT on 11-20-2013 at 05:47 AM |
galaxie | I saw this a few months back They want the 30 something crowd to buy it. Glad I bought one before they changed the way it looks. I heard performance will improve, but I don't like the appearance. JMO. |
alrtg | Looks more like an old Hyundai Tiburon to me. |
ibjeff | These are just renderings. Guesses. The car has not been unveiled yet. Same thing happened with the new C7 Corvette. The renderings were way off This message has been edited by ibjeff on 11-20-2013 at 05:37 PM |
padroo | How much mileage can they get from a latr 60,s early 70,s clone. I really like the Fusion but I will reserve my opinion till I see one in the show room. If I touch it there has to be magic or I would not buy. I thought I wanted a late model Jag once and when I touched it there was no magic. The Prowler on the other hand never lost it's magic and after touching one the rest was history. |
WildCat | I have a 2007 and like the handling, ride and look. Don't care to much for the 2010 and up. Until the new one comes out who knows what it will really look like Don't card for the rendering much. But they did a good job on the Fusion, so hopefully the new Mustang will have just the right look. |
ed monahan | I agree the Fusion looks good. I like the grill, a lot. I can't see making a Mustang look similar, we have way more than enough "similar" on the road today. |
RPL | Friend at dinner tonight had four back at the shop and a truck headed out west for a You Tube video shoot. Indicated that Ford would reveal it at five locations around the world on December 5th. |
garysss | I think this car would sell, but don't think it should be called a Mustang. |

Gary,,,are you suggesting Ford bring back the Pinto name? |
BeWare | I think this car is BAD A$$ looking. Maybe it's time for a change to the Mustang. However it does seem to be bucking the trend ie the Camaro and Challenger. |
padroo | Ford was the leader in the trend of using the retro style in a muscle car I believe the 2005 Mustang started the whole retro thing and GM and Chrysler followed, it has worked out well.
|
ed monahan | I think the PT Cruiser was the beginning of the retro look. Of course that wasn't a muscle car. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 11-21-2013 at 08:03 PM |
padroo | Ed, you are right about the PT cruiser but I never figured out what car they were trying to mimic. The Thunderbird is another one but it lacked enough of the old styling in my opinion. While talking about the Thunderbird I think they made it too aerodynamic. They needed the little hoods over the headlights and small tailfins like the 57. It could have been a great retro car instead o just so-so. Jmo This message has been edited by padroo on 11-21-2013 at 09:19 PM |
beachcat | Some say the Desoto Airflow was the inspiration for the PT Cruiser
|
ed monahan | They looked similar to the old delivery vans from the 48-52 era. I don't know if that was the intent, but that is what they reminded me of, when I first saw one, in Hawaii. |
padroo | A really nice DeSoto airflow. I believe they were the first attempt at aerodynamics. |
Gort | Chrysler has always been more bold in their designs. My first new car was a 66 charger with folding headlights and a console in the back seat area as well as the front.Tail lights that went from fender to fender.440 magnum 375 hp. Great car. [URL=http://s1302.photobucket.com/user/wawuzit/media/dodge-00034-1_zpsc8eca161.jpg.html][/ URL] When I see one today it looks huge, but I still like that car. |

I'm a Camaro guy now A/C. Don't you know if you owna car and are a car website you are not allowed to like anything about a competitive car! |
Marty Usher | Gort - I always liked the mid to late 80's Mopar. Styling was always "forward thinking" and unique. My only minor criticism was I always the rear wheels should have positioned a little further rearward - loved the grill/front end styling and the interior plus the fastback styling. |
