hockpgI was a Chrysler dealer from 1983 until 2012. I brought my wife’s Prowler to our home in North Carolina in 2014 when we moved here permanently. I have done oil changes etc myself, but now I’m above my paygrade. I have a noise that has been there forever and we have lived with it. Now at 50K almost, and I’m getting nervous. I had it up on my lift today and I think it is driveshaft. I’m looking for a qualified Prowler tech in Southeastern North Carolina or Northeastern South Carolina as a resource for both advice and work. We live on Oak Island, southwest of Wilmington. Can you help?
Thank you,
Peter Koch

ALLEY CATPeter,,,,Hope a member can reply with a dealer tech for you in your area, but your 2nd best choice would be a Viper Tech at a Dodge dealership... Those are usually the best techs a service department has on staff.

Sounds as if your problem is one that others have had...noise in the drive shaft. Others will jump in and share their experience with this issue, hopefully.

Good luck!

LSKI'm in Asheville on the other end of NC. I have a garage with a couple of former Chrysler techs here that I trust but is way too far for you to travel.
Go with AC's advice. If the local Chrysler dealership has a Viper certified tech, you will be getting the best.
padrooThere is a bearing inside the beĺl housing that is known to occasionally fail with miles and time. There is a rear bell housing that has to be filled with oil to keep it from failing. The front one is a sealed bearing.

Here is some info on the front bearing.
