Miss information!!!! (Robin This is a factory part remanufactured to new condition BCM by Chrysler. This message has been edited by robin on 02-09-2018 at 02:48 PM I have to manage my mental wellness. PERIOD. All the Best Phil Put two small plates or bowls on your desk. Label one "Criticisms". Label the other one "Compliments and Expressions of Gratitude and Appreciation". Put a penny into the appropriate receptacle every time a post naming you comes up. Things will soon come into perspective for you! I know that I would be pretty pissed with myself if I purchased a BCM from a junkyard for a hefty sum, only to find out that I needed to pay again to get it programmed, took on the possibility of it being defective, no warranty...all when I could have spent far less to get better parts with a warranty. I was just trying to help. Help people save money and get a guaranteed working product. That's it, nothing more. I was not trying to change your diagnosis. I was simply stating: Don't buy used crap, and here's my experience with the BCM. I'm sorry if you mistook what I said as criticism - it had nothing to do with you at all. Feel free to PM me if I ever offend you and we can correct this. I have no reason to criticize you. You are a rock solid asset on this forum and I value that dearly. I want you to know that I, as probably everyone else here, value the hard work that you put in on this forum and want to say thank you. This message has been edited by Dano on 02-11-2018 at 02:57 AM The mileage is stored in the BCM and supposedly the VIN is as well. This message has been edited by Need4Speed on 02-17-2018 at 02:35 PM robin This started with my helping a member http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/024396.html
( DANO
Regarding the BCM and the $700 that Robin spent on one...DON'T buy a used BCM
I would not buy a used BCM when I can get a factory rebuilt one with a warranty.)
you can't just buy a used BCM and throw in the car. it has to be programmed.
I bought mine as a spare part. It was from a 2001 prowler for 600 dollars. It just has to be flashed by the dealer .That way I don't lose original core.)
Dano it seems like you are trying to discredit me.
For some unknown reason?????
I know people don't use the PS very expensive ..
below is from PStore.
Chrysler/Plymouth Prowler (1999-2002) Factory Body Control Module
*This item includes a $700.00 Core Deposit.(650 for 99 ) When you send you old BCM back to us you receive the full deposit back - as long as the BCM looks fine from the outside.
I said in the thread that the Prowler store can swap the bcm out they basically have the same system as the (Dodge dealer a bit cheaper consumer friendly) send yours in then they give you core money back.
I'm tired of this crap .You try to discredit me Phil calling me a PUTZ cause he didn't like my idea of using water to test a belt.
What the H. I just try my best to help people out . not mislead them in any manner. Try to save them money.
Your problem worked out with the BCM.
Happy for you. But that may not be other people's issue.
I start with trying the cheapest easest fix first. then move up the line.
If you good back into the link you posted DANO I was trying to help AJAK. We started with the known issues and worked our way up.His maybe the BCM also but I have research a few post and people put money out for BCM and that wasn't there problem.
example,,,,,noted in this thread ...
All the instruments quit working on my 1999 Prowler except the volt meter and the tach, also the airbag light is on. All my research led me to believe it was the body control module. I just replaced the BCM and still have the same issue. I guess I just wasted $700. I need some technical help from you guys, I'm frustrated. Car only has 15,400 miles on it.
So for further references DANO or Phil will be best to contact for advise.
I'm done with this .......phil2237 Seems Every time some one does not agree with what you post, you pick up your toys and go home. Dano's post, is his opinion. If anyone feels a different way than you do, are you going to post it here ? robin I have no problem at all with others opinions. You missed the point all together.
Having to deal with the likes of you is not healthy for me.
So it's better for me to steer clear of conflict.phil2237 Didn't miss the point at all, Seems you cannot take any criticism at all. Every time some one doesn't agree with you, you state your thru, and want to take your dolly home. And Yes you do have to manage your mental illness. ClayD Robin. Dano Whoa !!! Robin, I was not trying to discredit you at all. I was just trying to help others steer clear of buying used parts when you can go directly to Chrysler and get factory refurbished parts with a warranty. TucsonJer Good morning Robin, if I may add my two cents worth... if you put the two bowls on your desk to put those pennies in that ClayD suggested make darn sure you put a REALLY big bowl out for the compliments and expressions of gratitude. I know a bunch of those pennies will be from me. Have a great day my friend. 🤠👍 Jer. Beachkat2 For what it's worth, we took an ECM from a 2001 and put it into a 99 and it ran like a top with no flashing or reprogramming. Dano quote:
