It was sure great to NOT have to clean that black brake dust off the front wheels every time I drove the Prowler. ENJOY the RIDE! But not as much as a few years ago...Ed did any body ever post how drastic the rotor wear was by the mileage that you recall? We now can replace for $135 a side..but not sure even with that price its worth having the ceramic pads on rear...My 3 brake fine with stock pads and I dont find the rears dusting enough to bother me between washings....jim Mike...My question to Ed was does anyone remember the miles they may have gone before the extreme wear?? Reason being ...as few miles alot of us drive per year and the price on rotors down to 135 a side....just wondered if the upside of ceramic would offset the quick wear of rotors and cost to change at todays prices? Just never saw a post on how quick the wear was....jim I agree Ed....I came to this game late and was just curious as to how bad and fast the wear was for the ones who had used ceramic...For instance if it was 15-20k miles with the price of rotors now... may not be bad trade off....but who knows... Not far from Gillette Stadium home of the New England Patriot's.... In the summer time they have a huge Bi-Weekly Cruise Night witch is a lot of fun.... Anyway I have a Question?... I'm thinking about changing my factory disc brakes pads to ceramic brake pads because of the brake dust, What I would like to know can anyone give me a heads up on what is a good quality performance pad to use.... I have the slotted rotors on the front of my car with ceramic pads.
and shouldn't be used with ceramic pads .mrbuzzard Hey hi Robin.... Thanks for getting back to me, I was looking at Power Stop ceramic brake pads but I was unsure about them so I thought I'd ask for some help on POF before I purchased anything so thank you Robin for your input It's very much appreciated.... This is my first time using this forum.... Thanks again!... Wayne ALLEY CAT I've used CARQUEST (now Advance Auto Parts) Premium Gold ceramic pads on two Prowlers, and no further problems with miserable, black brake dust.. Those pads are made by Raybestos,,,,so Raybestos premium pads should be the same quality and found at many auto parts stores.

There were some problems but it was inside wear and I don't know if it was due to ceramics or just high mileage/uneven wear or something "hanging up" slightly. I went with Akebono ACT730 Front Ceramic Brake Pads... They are high end and pricey but awesome stopping power with amazingly no dust.... Just another choice for you...

After doing my research I decided to go with Akebono Ceramic Pads AC730 that Richnew41 " Rich" mentioned so to Rich thanks for your suggestion, I'll be installing them this weekend....
