DanoSince I have the dash apart from diagnosing the AC blower door issues, I figured that I would play with LED lighting for my dash. At this point it is as simple as changing some bulbs. I tried red, blue, green, yellow, and white. I was very surprised that the colors I thought would look good actually looked the worst and the colors that I thought would look bad actually looked the best. Red looked like there was almost no lighting at all. Blue blended in with the blue on the instruments looking very dull and somewhat dark. Yellow just looked totally weird.

Below is White and Green together so that I could make a side-by-side comparison (no silly, I'm not going to leave it like that!):

Now below is all white:

The halo is from my camera since the garage was pitch black, they are not really that bright.

Thoughts / feedback here? What do you think?
I think that the white looked the best. It really makes the blue in the instrument 'pop' and look alive.

ed monahanYou need to get gas, the gauges are not all that accurate. lol Glad I could help.
I agree the white looks the best.
mslc10I have these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/7xDashboard-Panel -LED-Light-Package-Kit-Blue-For-1999-2001-Plymouth-Prowler-/351982512519?hash=item51f3cae987

And they include the one for the tach. I like the blue especially when I run my windsupressor on blue!

Note: you cannot dim them all the way down ....

nmjayhawkDano, Which LEDs did you buy? I like the white.
stevedymoIn a search, some of the members have used:
www.superbrightleds.com

Check out the web site.

DanoI got them at:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072Z35PJW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc =1

Ed "You need to get gas" - LOL! It also looks like i'd be going backwards !

I put the white in. Two sets were required.

TomcalAre these LED's dimmable using the factory dimmer control?

It depends on how you define 'dimmable':

Do they dim like the factory lamps? Definitely not.

Do they dim a bit? Yes. Funny thing though, the LEDs in the speedometer dim more than the rest. Strange...

George JohnsonThe White looks really nice!!
Silveradowhite looks better

1- how hard was it to pull out the dash?

2-where exactly did you put in the bulbs?

3-is to put in the bulbs?

thanks

DanoThanks to all, and I agree - the white looks better. So I went with white. Now I need to do the A/C panel (not sure of how to get those lamps changed), the tach, and the shifter bezel.

Easy, very easy...once you do it it is easily repeatable. Getting the instrument cluster is a few screws, two connectors, 1 bracket, and you are done. When replacing the lamps, notice that there is 1 hidden underneath the circuit board for the speedometer. I missed that one and had to re-do it.

Check out this well written article about how to remove the dash:

2-where exactly did you put in the bulbs?
In the same spots that the factory bulbs were at. It is a PIA because LEDs have polarity that must be correct. If not, they will not light. What I did was install them and the ones that did not light were in backwards. I reversed those and they all lit.

3-is to put in the bulbs?
Unsure the request here, but I think I going to interpret this: 'the egg nog is really good but I think I put in too much rum. [/b]

BTW I these are T10 lamps. I originally ordered T5 and they are way too small.
