best go to a radio shop and have them install what you are looking for .(Not a new head unit the iPod interface)
the link shows some different way and products .
A local shop may carry these products. check back if you are successful. robin

MattGRelated, I'd like to be able to stream audio via bluetooth from my smart phone to the prowler's audio system.

I started with a cheap and easy 'solution' which was a $20 device that looks like a cassette tape and just pops into the cassette player and provides bluetooth. WRONG! it does work but sound quality sux... For any of you techies out there I suspect that the D/A conversion is what went wrong. (digital to Analog signal conversion)

In the link Robin provided it looks like this Pac Audio device: http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=1282&CategoryID=55 would do what I want - Bluetooth in my Prowler - but I wonder if the FM antenna input might suffer from the same D/A conversion sound quality degradation - or for that matter it could even degrade the FM radio reception... Thoughts?

GravyI think I just found a ISCH72. However isimple tech tells me the isfm2351 Bluetooth adapter is what I need and it's carried by Best Buy. Before I do anything dumb my goal is to stream tunes through my iphone. Is one better than the other?
GravyI think I found an isch72. However the isimple tech said I should use isfm2351 Bluetooth adapter instead. Before I do anything dumb does anyone have an opinion on which solution is best. My goal is to simply stream music from my iphone through the car radio.

there is a video in this link .

1. All radios with proprietary antenna terminals requires an Antenna adapter kit (sold separately). If unsure remove the radio or send us an email with vehicle model & year.

No reviews posted.
I think if you have the shop install you should have no problems.
if you are a tech guy then you are off to the races. robin

I love this thing!! I did not want to change out my factory Plymouth Prowler radio. I liked the factory look and the big buttons, but I wanted to have more music choices! I plugged this thing right into place of the factory cd-changer leaving the cd-changer in place. Just unplugged the cord underneath it and plugged this thing in! It was that easy. No removing dash panels or anything! No removing the stereo! I ran the cable up the side of the seat and put my Ipod in the net basket on the side of the transmission tunnel! Now I play my ipod with the radio controls on the back of the steering wheel! It is great! Definately recommend this unit!

I don't think you can go wrong with either one..,. good luck report back thank you.

MattGSo, if I have this right, they are 2 very different devices:

With the ISCH72 (~$80) you have to disconnect your CD player…  and it uses a cable and the (old - outdated) 30 pin apple connector to connect to an iPod/iPhone.

The iSFM2351 (~ $150 - $200) attaches to your FM antenna input using FM modulation to stream music into your car’s FM receiver . The connectivity from your phone to the 2351 box is via bluetooth. I see some people on the Best Buy reviews complaining about sound quality although it got roughly 4 out of 5 stars in 80 reviews.

ed monahanThe ISCH is used with an iPod. They supply every thing that you need. There are three adaptors included, the one they tell you to use is the wrong one.
I have been using them for about 10 years and it works great with an iPod. I have no idea if it works with a Blue Tooth. Someone else will respond, I am sure.
robinCorrect two different products.Matt the ISCH72 uses the existing wire from the cd player.
You then plug into your iPod. Done

The other unit is the isfm2351 it plugs into the back of the radio via the antenna. Thus giving you ability to use your IPhone and blue tooth functions.

The video of install is very straight forward.

But if you are not techky like me have some one install this one.isfm2351

Greg and VetaI bought the ISCH72 originally to use plugged into my wife's iphone 4s in place of the CD player. When my wife got rid of that phone I bought a brightplay 30 pin bluetooth audio receiver/adapter from amazon that attached to the ISCH72 and made it a bluetooth reciever. Works great and can be used with any bluetooth phone or player.

Amazon does not have this one available but there are several other newer ones that should work as well or better.

Sometimes I still use the CD player and it only takes about 30 seconds to unplug one and plug the other in.

GravyI just had a ISFM2351 installed and couldn't be happier. It doesn't have any effect on anything your car currently has. I still have AM?FM and CD player but now I can stream all my music via Bluetooth. They're available at Best But, Walmart, Amazon, Sonic etc. I purchased mime at Best Buy but did an internet search for different pricing and they matched the lowest price so I got mine for around $70. With installation it cost me $130.
mslc10The isch72 charges iPod or 30 pin phone . If using the 30 pin Bluetooth the cheaper ones DO NOT give you track up/down thru steering wheel controls. You DO GET all your navigation directions thru the stereo if using phone.

Bovee 1000 on Amazon gives you track changes.and if you find that at a car show you want to keep phone with you , the range is limited on this unit by the aluminum collar around it. Remove the collar by pulling it straight off and use tape or shrink tube in place of the aluminum.
