This message has been edited by MellowYellow on 11-20-2016 at 10:03 AM The bumpers are made out of a solid chunk of billet aluminum and machined to shape then chromed The rear valance is also different Think they were like $2,800 and proably less than 10 set total ever made It is a mod I wish I had on my car. The best looking bumper on the back of a Prowler. With some of the other limited parts that were made and reproduced, these could be also if someone wanted to do the work ------------------ Quality and expensive The car was done 'right' with it's mods...... Marty Usher is probably the best Prowler guy to talk to about NOX on a Prowler. Personally I would remove it and have the cup holder back. ------------------ This message has been edited by MellowYellow on 11-20-2016 at 10:16 AM This message has been edited by MellowYellow on 11-20-2016 at 08:35 PM MellowYellow First, I love this site as I stalked it for hours with my 1st three yellow Prowlers years ago! Second, I have used it recently for my fuel system issues that just popped up on Prowler #4 (yes, also yellow). So, new question.....#4 has a set of custom chrome bumpers, which I have never seen before, not to mention a ton of other goodies (NUN or never-used-nitrous, headers/dual exhaust, wind deflector, tranny cover, front bumper removal kit, etc)....any one know of the origin of these rear bumpers?? MellowYellow Here's a pic....I think....[img] alprowl Not sure, but guessing from RealRod *lil kat Definetly Real Rod - Rare as can be. There was talk some time back someone was going to try to do another run of these. Bob had some great products - Too bad. WildCat Real Rod made them
Larry & Sue MayesKONEJ Perhaps Xtreme Prowler can make them. Just like he did with the nose nerfs. ed monahan Mac, Galaxie, had posted he was looking into making them, several years ago. It must be a tough job to pull off.
There are anywhere between 5 and 10 sets, according to all the old posts about them. Bob, Real Rod, said he had to make ANOTHER run of 5 but needed more orders to get to that second 5. There was a set messed up by UPS, apparently. So if he made two runs of 5, PLUS his handmade set, that would be 11 minus the set damaged in delivery, making it 10.
I guess we will never know the true final number.
MellowYellow Thanks! Damn, it's glad to be back!! So much info and knowledge. MellowYellow Since I figured out the answer to the bumpers, and fuel pump, thought I might keep going...my car came with a NUN.....never-used-nitrous....looks to be done extremely well (like the bumpers), but the last owner only did it for entering car shows. Any other owners know of any other Prowlers with Nitrous.....?? It's a nice conversation piece, but I miss the drink holder...LOL ALLEY CAT M/Y ,,,,Your exhaust tips are SuperTrapps performance

Larry & Sue MayesMellowYellow Thanks AlleyCat....I am away from the car right now, so I can't crawl under it....but were the SuperTrapp mods just the tips, or did they have a full exhaust system (like Borla)? galaxie quote:

When we were thinking about doing this mod, we thought about using old Corvette type split bumpers to fit the Prowler, but didn't think there was much interest. Someone might want to do this now.ALLEY CAT M/Y,,,, the tips are the mufflers, sound controlled by the number of baffles inside.....you can adjust the sound level with the internal parts being added or reduced. You'll have to look under the car to see if the OEM muffler was removed,,,, FastLane quote:

What made you sell the other Prowlers?MellowYellow My Yellow #1 ('99) and #2 ('00) were bought to drive for a year, enjoy, then sell and make a profit...made about $2K on each....funny, but the market fell hard after selling #2, so I waited and picked up #3 (another '00) about $10K cheaper than selling #2.....(no, not that smart, just got lucky)....I used #3 as a daily driver for 5 years when my commute was 15 miles a day....when my daily commute became 70 miles per day, sold #3 and did a 911 C4 cab ('02, also yellow)......missed selling #3 a lot, so got #4 about 5 years ago...still have a 70 mile/day commute, so it's the weekend bar/restaurant hopping car.....got lucky on this one too, with all the mods.....and only had one little boo-boo with all that driving (Florida to Texas on the way home), but nothing a little wine and dremmel tool couldn't fix....
