padroo Has anyone who tows their Prowler trailer ever used an anti rattle device on their trailer receiver? I have one that works well with a hollow ball mount but the one that comes with the Prowler trailer is solid and the one I have will not work with it. There seems to be a lot of slop between the ball mount and the receiver.
beachcat I had a similar issue with a rattling weekender. I drilled and tapped a 1/4" hole in the side of the square tube of the hitch. Then threaded a 1/4" bolt through to push the ball mount into a firm position. I did it without having to remove the hitch off the car. Not sure if I am explaining it well.
The bolt also served as a theft deterrent of the hitch plug or ball mount.
galaxie I did the same thing. The hitch is solid, does not rattle.
padroo Thanks Mac and Beachcat that would be the easiest to do. I can't hear it but my wife can. Most of the aftermarket ones look kind of goofy.

Tried one wrap of electrical tape. No way!

beachcat I threaded a nut onto the bolt before threading the bolt into the hole. Then once the bolt is tightened down, you can then tighten the nut down to lock the bolt in place.

You made a lock nut, I got it.
I don't do any work in the attached garage and it has been constantly raining. I did clean the top the other day and put the 303 convertible top cleaner on it and it came out nice and black, better than it ever looked.
I haven't heard anyone talk about top cleaning yet this year.

mslc10 Did the same on a Cherokee....when you are drilling the hole thru to be tapped ,leave your ball mount in the reciever. When you drill the hole thru you have now put an indention in the mount. After you tap the reciever, take the bolt that you are going to use and grind the end a bit to make a blunt point . This will engage the indention when screwed in and in turn will center and wedge the mount and reciever.
