why would it be needed?

i have a slow leek, and i am assuming its from the O ring.
i have taken them out.
Should i put it back in?

Landscape DoctorVery nice. I like em.
robinI have been running them for a year and no problem so far.
They are threaded right to the top so they go on good and snug.
Never had a low tire light.
I guess you could add o rings if you wanted.
Fastlane I would try the o ring agiain and if it stops your slow leaky that may be part of the problem .Maybe just the valve needs tightening or cleaned. If it continues have the stem replace and the wheel reseated.

Try spaying some windex or window cleaner on the stem, if it bubbles its leaking, could have a leak somewhere on the tire. Could change the core in the valve stem also instead of dismounting tire to get at valve stem if the core is leaking.

padrooI had a tire a few months ago that had a slow leak and it was actually a loose valve core.

That is more common than you think.

StingRayI would forego the O-rings, personally. Had them in set of original LogoCaps that would unseat when being put on and then would put pressure on the center valve pin and actually cause the slow leak I experienced. Got rid of o-ring, got rid of problem, kept the LogoCaps
padrooI was quoting tirerack.com.

an I reuse my Original Equipment (O.E.) TPMS sensors instead of buying new sensors when I purchase new wheels?

A vehicle’s O.E. sensors can be reused with new wheels. A qualified installer will need to remove the sensors from the previous wheels and install them on the new.

The following parts will need to be replaced by your installer when reusing O.E. sensors:

Rubber grommet seal
Aluminum valve nut
Aluminum or plastic TPMS-compatible valve cap with an internal O-ring seal
Nickel-plated valve core
Various valve washers or rings where required depending on the application

I actually had the same problem Ray, I had a slow leak and I found the O-ring jammed in next to the schrader valve causing the slow leak. I still use them with the o ring but now I look, it's all about the details.
