JeraneWI seldom drive my Kat at night; however, I made a long trip last night and kept seeing, what looked like, lights in my rear view mirror like a car following me at some distance. I also looked at my outside rearview mirrors and saw the same image. There WAS NOT a car behind me. This image was there almost my entire trip, sometimes disappear and come back again. It seemed like a mirage or "don't say it," I may be going batty. Any one have this experience?
derosajIt depends on what your smoking.
idiveMarfa Lights
beachcatProbably Andria messing with your mind.
bjprowlerPops, if you haven't had it checked recently, have your eyes examined for cataracts.....They cause halos and double vision which becomes even mor pronounced at night..

Just a thought

JeraneWJust the kind of responses I expected. I will follow through with all of these but would really like to know for real.

You left out some important factors ..if you're serious. Do you wear glasses, if so are they coated with anything reflective. Many pilots that swear they saw UFOs were later convinced that it was a reflection from the canopy or helmet lens. If you saw something it was either real or was imposed on glass/mirror by another object. If the lights that were following you never got closer or farther away that would seem to lean towards a reflection from the dash or something else.

EssexExportCan't be too careful when it comes to those things.

JeraneWThanks Gort for a sincere reply. I tried covering items on the dash that could have given a reflection on the rear window and back to the mirror; I covered as much lighting as I could, but I got the same light reflection on my outside mirrors as well. Yes I was wearing glasses and did not think of removing them to see what the response would be. Of course, I was driving at 70mph and some off and on rain. I turned off cruise control also because of the rain, which you should disengage when it rains. Now that I am home, I will go out one night and see if I still get the reflection.
bjprowlerWhat made you think my reply wasn't serious?

JeraneWCataracts have been removed and no sign of diabetes. This does not happen driving my pickup, HHR, Motor coach or golf cart. This might be a sign from "Above" to unload my Prowler.
Maybe I should make an appointment with my "shrink" and let him get into my mind. LOL
DrewCheck your mirrors while still in your garage!, or rear against a wall. You sure you weren't at a drive-in?!? jk!
ed monahanDo you have an Air Patrol or anything similar?
JeraneWYes Ed, but the top was up and I thought it was some kind of reflection from the rear window. Thanks for the suggestion. I still think I may need a visit to my "shrink."
bjprowlerHave someone about your own height drive the Prowler at night with you in the car...Then you drive and compare what each of you experienced.....If both of you saw the same things then it's the car...

If only you saw it you need to see your eye doctor.

JeraneWGood advice. All I need to do now is find someone I can trust to drive my car. People around here are just not Prowler types. If the rain ever stops, I will try some of the suggestions before I visit my shrink or eye doctor.
Goop Of OilHey Pops, I think I found your problem.

http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/020874.html

Were your rear view mirror lights on? If so, turn them off- problem solved. If they were Not on, then you are welcome to stop by my house one evening and I will be happy to drive your car again.

padrooTry closing one eye then the other and see if it goes away.
ed monahanI would bet it was a reflection in the windsuppressr.
