GortI used the search feature but don't see a "how to" article. Several guys seem to like the door opening a little wider.
alrtg http://www.prowlerexcitement.com/CurtisProwlerTech/ScottsDoors/index.htm

I did a search for "Door Video" and got 52 choices to look at.

This one was an earlier post which I hope still works.

The person mention Scott Curtis has since passed away but his ingenuity will live on (along with many others)

Here is another thread.

If you have any further questions, ask Jan (Catfish) as he is very knowledgeable when it comes to this mod.

padrooI did the $10 spacer thing and that is the best mod I have ever done for the money. If you want it to open wider than that I would look into to Scott Curtis how to link. I haven't done mine yet but it is on my list. My #12's still kicks the door panel a little and I am not very flexible.
catfishah scott curtis didnt invent it i did.he alaways liked to take credit for someting he didnt create.guess karma caught with him.the post your looking for is titled---make your doors open wider, by me.

Tom Mills has nice machined aluminum spacers, check with Jefferson Auto on main page

I never changed mine since I didn't see it as a problem. Tom stopped by the house on his way home from Florida and showed me how to put the window regulator in (better than the video) but before we started he said, did you ever change the doors to open wider, told him No. Before he started the spacers were in place, have to admit it is much easier to get in and out of. My doors opened 28 1/2 on one side, 29 1/2 on other, now both about 32

catfishif you grind 1/8 inch off the dr hinge stop you will get 7 to 8 inches.thats on all 4 hinges, its easy to do.my original post also has photos.

Was that necessary? Are you perfect?

padrooA lot of people here do not get the recognition they deserve for the help and time they have spent to make the Prowler experience better. I can only say thank you.
faddeothank you catfish...
catfishyes its necessary.scott curtis was a liar and a thief,if you like those kind of people then good luck.when somebody tries to take credit for something you invented that rubs me the wrong way.the truth is the truth.enough said.

If you think bashing someone who is dead is necessary, good luck to you. You think that makes you a better person? How sad for you.

JeraneWI guess it takes one to know one. CJ hit it right on the head.
catfishjerane, you calling me a liar and a thief.dead or not he will still go down in history as a scum bag.since none of you were there when he decided to steal my idea, you wouldnt know the truth would you.you werent there.my next major mod ,i willl keep to myself.

CJSo did you actually manufacture something or just show how to use a grinder on the hinges??

Sorry guys, didn't mean to cause trouble, just curious how to do this modification.

Get lost? Wow! Maybe you should practice what you preach! Bright isn't it? LOL! Look in the mirror. You are disrespectful....especially to women.

I wasn't defending anyone. I merely stated that bashing a deceased person was pretty classless.

It appears from the links that there have been several different alternatives to your idea. The man is deceased, get over it.

ZapcopdWhere can I purchase the spacer? I sent an email to Tom Mills. No response. Did a google search and found Tom Mills /Jefferson Auto. The address however comes up to a house in a residential area.
CJI sent you a pm with some additional contact information for Tom!
