Yes, I did the same. Have not yet tried to program it. IF you have one working remote for your car, you can program additional remotes by following the instructions found in the owner's manual. You can program up to four remotes to operate the car but they must all go through the process within a specified time including the remote you used to initiate the programming process. IF you do not have a working remote, you will need to get at least one programmed by the dealer. Another point to keep in mind is to ALWAYS try to maintain a factory original key if possible. Always make copies from original factory keys then KEEP the original as a spare key to make additional copies from as needed. Use the duplicate keys for daily use because it is better to lose them, damage them, or wear them out instead of an original. If you no longer have an original key, a compitent Locksmith should be able to decode what you have and make a new one to factory specifications that you can then treat an an original. The dealer often uses a clipper with varying degrees of accuracy so I would reccommend the Locksmith route. I think the original remote has the pentastar which is the same as any other Chrysler from that year. The key however I think is different for the Prowler. I got a few keys with the pentastar and and two keys with a cat on them. alrtg For what it is worth regarding Remotes and Keys: aiki99 So The peanut shape remote with the Chrysler Pentastar is original for a 2001 Plymouth.......Thanks Guys StingRay Does the peanut shaped one have the Chrysler pentastar on the back side? RichO I have the two original remotes for my '01. Both are peanuts with no pentastar. The back has DaimlerChrysler and is made by TRW in Canada. P/N 04686481 ed monahan There are two different models of the peanut shaped remotes. I think it makes a difference which one you need. The model numbers are different. This was discussed 10 years or so ago so you might want to do a search to see about the diff. numbers.
