padrooI ran across this review on moving a Prowler from Florida to Michigan. The guy was obviously happy and for the price $565 I would be too and it was an enclosed trailer.

EdsCatYou have to keep your eyes on these movers. When I had my Cat shipped to Prowler Pro in Colorado from Florida it was on an open car hauler. They go from place to place and pick up & drop off cars as they go. They put it up on the 2nd level and proceeded to tie it down for the trip. I did not realize until the car came back to Florida that they had done a bad thing.

I noticed that my power steering fluid was leaking. Tried the 'stop leak' type with no luck. After fooling with it for a few weeks I took it to my mechanic and he said the rack and pinion assembly was leaking. Long story short - I had to replace it to the tune of about $1,000 plus.

The movers had thrown a chain over the rack and pinion and tightened it to the truck bed. That bent the assembly and the rest is history.

WATCH THEM LIKE A HAWK if you decide to ship your vehicle!

treybMost of my moves where corporate so all my cars went in door to door with big professional companies. Dependable etc. They paid alot. 1200-1500.
My last two personal moves used a website called www.uship.com
I think it's owned by eBay. Works like this site and people bid for your car.
Price was like 700ish. Ed is right have to watch those long haul broker types.
In each of my moves I awarded to a private hauler and had good experiences. Car made it to NC perfect for the. 6.1 and it was the only ride on board. He had another motorcycle.

You can check there references etc and many times talk with the actual driver if it's a private guy.

treybFirst time I shipped my 69 Camaro and Prowler
With a private guy from Nj to miami for 1500.
Great service, he even stored them for me for free for 2-3 weeks when my move in date got delayed.
Looks like no matter what it comes down to the guy doing the job. Most things get brokered any to max loads. Depends on timing where your going and whos got space

happydriverWe bought ours from Chicago Cars on ebay and they set up the transport for us. I informed them that there would be an expert here to check it out and if there was any problem with it that it would be on the way back the same day. Of course Ed was in Arazona when it arrived and a Chrysler export (friend) checked it out for us. It was perfect.
jimsuttonLast month I had a Dodge Viper sent from Missouri to Florida .. $500.00 Inclosed transport all of the cars were covered in plastic .. Shipped by Western Auto Transport - Stacked 6 Car in trailer - 25 years of service and they were First class and the Best way for Me ..
POOLKATI am still hoping that something affordable comes my way to get my Kat to Vegas. If anyone hears of something good, please post it. Bought my Kat on Ebay and the dealer shipped it from Iowa to Ct. and it was perfect. I think it cost $1000 in 2002.

WildCatThis post reminded me of something I seen over the weekend. Cold snowy and salt covered roads

on top of a car transporter was a sub lime green AAR cuda, 2nd car back

bet the owner would be really PISSED to see his car out in the weather getting salt spray all over it

good luck to anyone shipping their car

I hauled my Dart convertible to florida just after Christmas and it probably cost me $700 - $800 in fuel to go down and back
