On the home page there is a contact link. Someone could have helped you solve your problem.

beachcatTried a few times. Emailed the site admins with no response. Have been trying for some time. JeraneW had the same problem. Finally had to just re-register.

I've met him, really super guy! Comes across as a know-it-all but has a prowler so he can't be all bad

padrooWelcome back Roger with your new name and your new look.
BLAKTIEI have the same problem as Fibertop. I have been on the "site" since 2002 and requested help to no avail. I had to register as a new member. There must be some help out there!
Jim CI have had this happen as well. My hard drive crashed I had to re register as Jim Co. But Then I started thinking wait i had a copy of my original email with Password when i first joined tried it and it worked. there is a way to reset your cookie not sure how that works but I'm sure someone will chime in. Wait! This is not going to heart if you have your old password go to edit profile type in your old user name and old password and enter then hit update.

idiveMaybe I'm totally wrong here, but I thought when you register, you have to wait for a password to be emailed to you before you can post. You were posting under fibertop as recent as about 3pm today. Then, appearingly suddenly, you lose your email account and try to inform the administrators of your new email account, but are unsuccessful, so you had to register under a different name and are then able to post under that new name by about 5pm today. But it shows in your profile that you registered the new name on 7-17-11. But at 10:42pm tonight you still could post under fibertop.
I knew you could change email addresses on your profile but that would get you a new password emailed to your new email address.
I don't see how losing your email account would effect your account here other than at that point administrators wouldn't be able to contact you if they tried, other than by PM. I would think you would still be able to use your original name and password. At worst, reset your cookie to be able to post.
All this techie stuff confuses me.
Maybe an administrator could chime in and explain all this to us so more of us don't have issues and will know what to do down the road.

beachcatBeleive me I tried. I sent 3 emails to the admins and also some others that I thought could help. I haven't lost my email yet but I have sold my business and the email I used here goes with it. Knowing this, I tried to change the email address on my account but was unsuccessful as was Jerane when he tried. So I did what jerane did and re-registered under a different email but could not retain the same username fibertop. It is confusing but it is done now and I am now beachcat. Another peculiar anomoly is I tried to use the username beachKat with a K but was informed that username was taken
Jim COne thing I do remember is back in 2003 I was only registered at work. When I retired in 2006 I had tried to log on here at home and couldn't reason was simple a different computer and IP address. I did however have a copy of my original email from POA and emailed back telling admin the situation my user name and password originally given received a new email telling me it had been reset and to log on using the same old user name and password.

idiveI registered from home but have logged on with no problem from a different computer at work. I just had to set cookies on that computer before posting, using my id and pw.
meancatRoger you will be E-ZER to find now.
