You mean you have actually driven your Prowler? You all will get use to the brakes. It does "seem" like it takes longer to stop but in emergency situations I was always able to get it to stop in plenty of time. This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 03-13-2011 at 09:46 PM As much as I could before winter set in. Before long I will be driving it daily. I can't wait. Thanks for the reply, nice to know it's normal for the breaks to work this way. elliot I felt like a kid again driving my first car. I'm sure all Prowler owners feel something special every time they go Prowling. and....Yep!! ------------------ The Prowler makes you smile. Why? Because it's focused. It has a plot, a reason for being, a passion. It evokes the hot rod. It evokes the American Dream. This car is the human psyche. My grandson was just 11 years old and could barely see out when I got my Prowler...Today, he's a strapping 200 lbs and will be 18 in November. He's the only other person who I allow to drive it,....and he still loves it as much as I do. He used to constantly ask me how many miles were on it.......I finally realized that he was worried that I would wear it out before he got to drive it He needn't worry....One day it will be his..... Great Story BJ, we put a pillow on the passenger seat so he could sit up a little higher. We got enough rain in the past two weeks to remove all the salt and crap spread on our roads, I was able to get the Kat out Saturday air up the tires as they had lost two pounds over the winter then took it to the gas station and put fresh fuel in it. It sat empty this winter as I was unable to top it off before the snow's arrived. It was tough to only drive it the six miles to the station and back but there were things that needed done at the house. I was tempted to go out for a long drive but then I would have had to yell at myself when I got home. Elliot, ENJOY the Kat and take your time going in and out of driveways, be aware that the nose sticks out further than you realize and be very careful when pulling into parking spaces with curbs. ----------------------------------------- tom It was tough to only drive it the six miles to the station and back but there were things that needed done at the house. How would I find out about Prowler events on long Island or New York. This message has been edited by spoons on 03-19-2011 at 06:40 PM Elliot I purchased my 02 candy red Prowler in December and finally drove it for the first time yesterday. It's a day
I'll never forget. My twelve your son and I have waited along time for this day. We put the top down, turned up the heat and had the time of our lives. The Prowler driving experience is awesome. It's fast, loud, responsive and a little bumpy. just what we wanted and more then we expected, it was great. The smiles and waves from onlookers and comments from people was unbelievable. I can't believe how many folks came up to us to look, stare and ask questions on the Prowler. I was surprised how many people did not know that this was a Chrysler. The car ran perfect all day. I do have questions on the breaking. It seems that stopping the car from higher speeds takes longer then most other cars, is this normal for the Prowler. Breaks seem fine, stops straight just takes a bit longer. any suggestions would be helpful. Can't wait till next weekend to take the Prowler out again. Hope other Prowler owners first experience was like ours. Would love to hear other first impressions.fibertop Elliot, I had the same braking experience my first time out. I posted on this forum and I was told to pump up the brakes as they are not anti-lock. This sluggish braking is apparently normal for the prowler. Marty Usher quote:

CJ - The One and Only
1999 Black - PPROWLR
2002 Deep Candy Red - CJPROWLN
2002 Black California Kid Prowler - CAL KIDpadroo I'm jealous, haven't driven mine yet, not 1 inch! Cool Cat 1 Mine is still on jack stands too. I have to move the Motorhome, then the race car trailer 1st to get the Prowler out of the garage. This weekend if nice I will take her out for the 1st time. Looking forwards to get back into Smiling again. See you guys on the road soon. AL CJ It's nice enough (at least we have sun) to be out, but here in MI, they dump a lot of salt on the roads. It takes a really good, hard Spring rain to wash it away. I really don't want that stuff on my cats. bjprowler Good for you, Elliot!....I bet your son will also keep that day in his memory for a lifetime... Elliot [QUOTE]Originally posted by bjprowler:

I told my son one day this will be your car, he said "Daddy it will always be ours." What a wonderful Prowler moment that was.alrtg quote:

One thing better than driving the Prowler, is driving the Prowler in a group of Prowlers! Good luck, congrats and hope to see you at some events this year. Elliot quote:
