nitrosteveIf anyone here has any dealings with a member using the screen name ADACUS, I would be very careful. He contacted me last week and committed to buy a Trailer hitch plug and indicated he would send a PayPal payment on Monday the 29th. of Nov. when he returned to his office. I e-mailed him Tuesday on the 30th and reminded him and never heard a word from him. He apparently isn't going to follow through. He still hasn't paid! I told 2 people the hitch was sold because I believed he had bought it, if those who asked about it contact me I still have it for sale. I received 2 e-mails from other members on this site and they warned me about him and this was a possibility and sure enough they were right. Sadly it seems this individual has a bit of a reputation.
adacusHi Steve,

Payment has been sent at this time.

Sorry for the delay in getting this done.
I use a pre-load credit card for internet purchases. This requires me going to the shop to load the card. I do not use my normal credit cards as years ago I lost over $ 5,000.00 due to internet fraud and lost my case to the credit card company.

Anyway, the last week has been extremely busy for me in business as I am staffing up and under a lot of training requirements.

I read your post and was sorry to see it, but I can completely understand your position. You have every right to be upset with me. All I can offer you is my sincere apology for the delay. As far as what others say, I'm sure I cannot recall them but I NEVER haggle price. I pay for what people ask for.

Being a business owner, I am constantly pulled in different directions with every single phone call. That is why I am staffing up to take some of the pressure off of me. I have been rebuilding my business after a complete loss from Hurricane Ike.

I would ask you a favor, if I owe someone money from this site, then it is simply an oversite and would like to settle my debt to them. Would you please ask them to contact me so I can get payment out to them.

As far as broken purchase promises, yes, I may have done that in the past due to my schedule getting so overloaded I just forgot about it. Again, that is my fault for not recording it. No excuse for me doing that.

Again, my apologies to you for the inconvenience it may have caused you.

If you have since sold the item to another party, then I invite you to keep the $ 75.00 I just transferred to you as a token of good will.

In closing I would like to add that years ago I purchase and paid for an item from a gentleman on the east coast, it took him over a year to ship the item to me. I never pressured him, never complained, never any negative words.
Many of you might remember this man, he was the one many of you sent a card to wishing him well while his son lay in coma from an automobile accident. A story I posted on here and asked members to send to him to help keep his faith and spirit up. Yes, the item did show up. And yes, his son did come out of coma.

Again, my sincere apologies for your inconvenience.

RPLadacus, nice apology. At least you paid in a reasonable period of time, you should see my list of people that asked for radiator and heater hoses and then never had the courtesy to respond when the ordered and paid for, by me hoses arrived. I think that I'll send out one last reminder before considering them deadbeats.

I my case, I've always attempted to keep people informed as to expected delivery dates. I order based on voluntary response. I have to pay for all parts ordered, often when ordered. Not paying for a part ordered hurts me not the supplier.

I appreciate when someone has the courtesy to tell me that they have changed their mind. I've also issued refunds to people that ordered a part, pre-paid and then sold their car.

I also understand when it takes awhile to pay. Last summer or mid-October is more than enough time for anyone to respond to a request for payment of an item that they ordered. And people on this site beat up vendors. Trust is a two way street.

Oh and by the way, I'm a firm believer that problematic vendors should be identified so that additional people aren't defrauded.

nitrosteveI want to take a moment and tell everyone the transaction was completed with Alton and he is in fact a very honorable gentleman. He posted a very moving apology and I certainly accept it and I apologize to him for doubting he would do the right thing. Things happen and I do understand and I should have been more patient! Again I apologize to Alton and all on the site if anyone was offended by my post. I love and respect every member of our Prowler family and I wish everyone a joyous Holiday Season and a great New Year.
bjprowlerAll's well that ends well....Perhaps this entire post should just be deleted...

You're both classy guys....

fibertopDon't delete it. Its a good lesson in tolerance and forgiveness and is a very appropriate story for this time of year. I say show love to people and down with hate!

StingRayWhat both Fibertop and RPL said above ... deleting the post would mean it never happened, and no lesson to be learned.

It is always "buyer beware", unfortunately, mostly due to the "once bitten, twice shy" principal. But, after all, a bird in the hand is certainly worth two in the bush, and never ignore the obvious that people in glass houses should never throw stones!

Now, back to your regular programming

idiveEverything seems to go political anymore... What's adacus got to do with the 2 Bushes?
adacusGreetings All,

I received my hitch cover today and I LOVE IT.

Talk about a really cool item to have.

Steve, thanks for everything.

And big thanks for packing it so very well.

Not a scratch on it. EXCELLANT

fibertopGlad it worked out for you. Hope to see some pics of it.
