Plymouth Prowler This message has been edited by attyedhall on 04-13-2010 at 05:49 PM seems the writers have not gotten to experience the Prowler at a Prowler event, car show or cruising down the road. How many cars can you drive and have people taking video & still pictures going down the road. I have had the car 12 years. I have NEVER had people taking pictures of my other cars. The Dart gets some, The Prowler still gets ATTENTION. Guess they want to have a ever lasting memory of one of the ugliest cars in the past 50 years Let's see, 250 HP in 2800 lbs car = QUICK, yes a V 8 would have been nice. Media writers = A.S.SHOLES ........... = Everyone has one, they just like to show theirs ------------------jimsutton This jackass did it again - I guess I have not taste
A hot rod that doesn't have more than 250 horsepower isn't much of a hot rod. This may have been the Plymouth Prowler's biggest liability, due in part to the automatic transmission. But its hideous design likely also had something to do with the public's underwhelming response to the Prowler. BusinessWeek magazine named the Prowler, first released in 1997, to a list of the ugliest cars of the past 50 years, describing it as "a pie wedge on wheels . . . The sharp, angular front . . . draws attention to the squished headlights, jarring grille and seemingly pasted-on front bumper." Not exactly a ringing endorsement.attyedhall everyone is entitled to their own opinion....but look at it this way...the cars were 40k when new.. (give or take)...now...10-13 years later they are still worth 25k (give or take)....how many other chrysler or plymouths have done that well for the same time period? guys like this author all too frequently guage their opinion based on the relative total number of sales as the primary consideration of a cars success.. the prowler was never intended as a mass appeal car....for the niche market it served, it really hasnt done so badly... but as I said...everyone is entitled to an opinion.... jimsutton I have NO taste and not taste .. you are right ??? I was venting .. Forgive Me ...... JOYRIDE Forgiven WINDY CITY PROWLER if my prowler were any faster i'd wrap it around a tree. WildCat Either you get it ............... or you don't
Larry & Sue Mayesdiamondwymond OH! i just gotta chime in! Yes to all the above.
I've thought a couple of times myself, if it had any more power and i was thirty years younger i'd be dead. If they had v8's, i'd lay you odds the 'death by prowler' statistics would be way up.
Again i add it never was meant to be a mass appeal car. It's just for people who want to look classier than anybody else going down the road.
i also cant go anywhere without getting ooh's and ahh's and compliments, pictures taken and so on. I dont know where that writer has been living, but it aint anywhere i've ever been.
cnilejr Ugly! Hmmm! Is that why so many people look at me while driving it, or ask to take pictures of the car when I am getting gas? I even had a small child in a stroller yesterday almost break his neck starring at my Kat at a red light yesterday. I don't even think he could talk yet. I found that to be very funny. EssexExport Had my Kat at a show last August. Must've been at least fifty people that took pictures of it, many in the multipule shot catagory.
