310driver	I'm curious if anybody can tell me how much of a premium the Black Ties and Woodwards are as far as price goes. For instance, would a Black Tie with 15,000 miles on it on average be $5,000 more than a same year orange or silver kat with similar miles? I see there are 4 Black Ties for sale that I can find. #77 with 10,400 miles for $38,000, #35 with 28,700 miles for $41,000, #7 with 3,300 miles that is on Ebay for an undisclosed reserve price, and an unknown # with 11,800 miles for $41,500. So obviously even the prices within the Black Tie group varies wildly. In the case of the Woodwards, I can only find two for sale. #73 with 10,800 miles for $37,900 and an unknown # with 700 miles for $42,500. Between those two, that begs the question if a garage queen that is like new with 0 mods is worth another $5,000? A little help/advice? catfish	theres no set way on price.i would beware,and get proof that its a real woodward or blk.tie,since there are some fakes out there. ------------------
BradleyG	This is a link to the Ebay car. # 007 was owned by Pharmcat on this site.. BEWARE of the car in this auction as the seller stated that he is the original owner. #007 has had at least 3 owners. Im not saying that this is not a good car.. just that #007 has more than one owner.. (Maybe the original owner bought it back). EDIT.. He has updated the auction to correct the mileage. It is actually 33,303 Is it worth more?? I paid a premium for mine.. FOR ME.. It was what I wanted, soooo. It was worth it to me. I find myself limiting the mods I make ... Just so that when I die.. My kids can put it back into an original Black Tie. Get what YOU want, because you will love it that much more. JeraneW	I had a choice between a Woodward or the Black Tie, each new at the time. The Black Tie retailed for 2K more because of the paint, but I chose it anyway; not that I paid retail. I am glad to this day that I made that decision; however, the Woodward would have been my second choice. Good luck with your search.
ed monahan	Is it worth $ 5000 more than a silver or orange car. Hmmm, try to determine what the silver or orange are worth!!!! Prices are all over the place. The sellers think they are worth way more because they are low mileage, because they are rare, because they made some mods, because, because because. If someone wants that exact car they might get their price. The Deep Candy seems to demand a slight premium, also. Is it worth that money to YOU and are you going to keep it or are you going to want a new toy next year ? If you plan on reselling it you need to know if it is worth that extra $ to THEM. I am not selling mine so I don't really worry about the current value. After I am dead I probably won't care about it either. I am not being a wise guy, everyone looks at it differently. I don't want to sell mine but if someone offers me $ 60,000 I would sell either one and go buy its twin. No one can tell YOU what it is worth. Keep looking until you find one that you think you are stealing then you know it was worth it.
prowlrman	I have Black Tie #62. Paid $38,000 for it in Feb, 2003 with just 1,900 miles on car from first owner. Glad to see that 6 years later the owners of BT's are still looking for that price. So either I got a good deal then, or I made a good investment. 6 years and no depreciation in value...COOL! Good luck...if a BT or Woodward is what you really want then you'll have to pay whatever is the going price I guess. Since there were only approx. 150 of each color built they don't come up for sale every day, as some of the other colors do. You can tell an original BT or Woodward by looking for the signature of Dr. Ru and the number of the car written in the pin stripe on the trunk lid directly above the license plate. idive	I agree with Brad. Beware that seller. Original owner and calls it a Tuxedo? The guy doesn't even know what he's selling. I'm not sure where he gets that its 007 (or #7) either. The #7 plaque is something custom. A carfax would tell you how many owners it's had.
garysss	I've seen both on Ebay for Buy-it-Now in high 20's several times and did not sell. It just depends on mileage and time of year etc. Keep looking you will find the right car at the right price for you.
DublinOH	Carfax says 5 owners, and failed emissions inspection 2x.
alrtg	The guy might know something we don't which may be why it is being advertised as a "Tuxedo" instead of a Black Tie. There is a good chance it is not a Black Tie at all but simply a car painted to look like one. Calling it a "Tuxedo" would be a slick way to avoid being accused of false advertising after a potential buyer makes the assumption the seller has no idea what they are selling then discovers it was not what they thought to begin with after completing the transaction. P.S. If you may have a genuine interest in the Black Tie "Tuxedo" car, ask for a close up photo of the pinstripe in the center of the rear of the car and ask for the number that should be there. I'm surprised there isn't a list of VINs of official BTs and Woodwards. As far as the Ebay one, the thing that stands out is that the ad says that it is 1 of 100. You would think that if a guy knew he had a BT, then he would know there was 163 of them built.

JeraneW	As mentioned in previous posts, the BT was only built in 2001, 163 total with 12 going to Canada. Look very close at the pin stripe in the center of the trunk to see which number it is and the signature of DR RUE. I believe there may have been a "pilot" BT as well; not sure.

If I remember the posts when they occurred (a long, LOONG time ago), there were 5 two-tone 2000's (no Dr. Rue autograph), black over silver with a VIN that said they were "silver". Leaks of the 2001 black-over-silver edition came out before the car, possibly due to the 5 pilots, and were variously rumored to be "Champagne Edition" or "Tuxedo Edition". I don't recall hearing the term "Black Tie Edition" until Chrysler officially announced the car. ed monahan	On the main menu on the left side of the page, you can click on owner's registry and then sort by color. They are in alphabetical order, Black, Black Tie, Blue, etc. Black ties REGISTERED have the last six of the VIN 700110 to 701295. The mule versions were numbered around 606376. Woodwards REGISTERED 603192 to 604547. Keep in mind that there are Vipers out there with VINs in that same range and there are not 355 Woodwards. The first and last number of those stated above are not necessarily the very first and last ones produced but should be relatively close. If the cars you are looking at are nowhere near those numbers, they are not what you want probably.
ed monahan	The alleged Black Tie on eBay has the front bumpers removed and the back bumpers painted. I would think that would diminish the value of a true Black Tie. It could be a mule, for sure, only a few numbers off on the VIN and the mules might have been 2000s.
