ALLEY CATEither you may have to edit your 'Owners Registry' information OR re-do it again to reflect your new location?

Have already did all that and the software doesn't allow you to reenter another address under the same member's name. Have I ever told you how much I #%&$N hate computers ?

I would hope that an administrator would jump in and facilitate this problem as I'm sure there has been others with the same frustration.

Larry LordHere's a a link to a 2002 post pertaining to the updating of the owner registry. At that time, we had 1300 registered members. It's now over seven years later and nothing has changed except the number of people registered.

One reply in particular made me laugh. I'm sure some of the "old timers" will know which one it was.

Larry LordTony,

Will this method allow members to delete their duplicate or re-registered names?

Is there a way to make the roster current?
Maybe if someone hasn't posted anything in the 4 or 5 years, or if the have multiple registrations, their unused names could be purged?

Larry,
That's exactly the point I want to make, you can input the new info but the roster doesn't take the changes. Hell, at this point who cares anymore !

Tony GoertzHi Michael - I don't understand - "you can input the new info but the roster doesn't take the changes" please give me details and I will check into it. Send me PM if you wish.

As far as duplicate registrations as the result of ownership changes, I would have to write a routine to search them out and manually update them.
Anyone can always change their Owners Registry info or even delete it.
I don't think linking the owners registry to active users would be the best choice. We have a similar issue with Registered Users. Over 7000 registered. How many are active ? How many are duplicates ?

Any suggestions ?

idiveWe could start by creating a thread of past users where they could let it be known who they used to be and that you could delete the old registration. BUT, would purging them remove all the valuable posts they made under their former selves as well? Something to think about also.
