Are the 'burn out marks' from the Prowler? I notice two trails. I know the Prowler does not have a locking differential, so what gives? |
| MDProwler | Rich, I did it myself. I believe Marty Usher has it on his also. I will post some pics as soon as I can find them. Norm,explanation I think? Line lock holds the front brakes only so the back are free to burn out! Quicy, The Prowler has an open differential but it always hooks up with both tires. | MDProwler | This is the solenoids set up on a plate and mounted to the frame rail. I used all existing holes and bolts. I prebent all my tubing and tied it into the existing lines. As with most mods it can be removed and put back to stock in a couple of hours. The switch is mounted under the center of the dash.

| MDProwler | I'm going to give my best explanation here. I think earlier model vehicles (70's) had one brake line for the front and one for the rear leaving the proportioning valve and then they split farther down the line. Todays cars have two front and two rear right off the proportioning valve. I could have put one solenoid before the valve but then the brake fail light would come on every time I used the line locks. | KenG | I have a line lock on mine too. I put it on about 3 years ago. It is only 1 solenoid. I installed it between the master cylinder and the distribution block and it looks like yours is installed after the distribution block. The only issue I have is that when I use it, the red brake light illuminates on the dash until I press the brake pedal again (after the burn out) It lets you smile when they yell "light em up" and you can smoke em out! |

That's the reason I used two solenoids after the distribution block. I was afraid a code would pop up when then battery light came on. If it resets easily then one would be cheaper and easier to install.
Ron, sorry i haven't gotten back to you. I used a B&M Launch Kit P/N 46076 and got it from Summit Racing for about $70.

Chris, I probably spent about 8 hours altogether. But I bent all the new tubing to fit the existing tubing. I think if you don't mind the light(could also act as an indicator that the line lock is set) it would be easier to remove the top tube and make a new one then save the original for later.
