galaxieDoes anyone know where Jay is? I called the shop & they told me he retired. I gave them my name to have him call me, nothing yet. I e-mailed him to send me a list of shimmers & he did, but I can't open up the list. I would like to get a list of shimmers & also the price list. The kat needs some for Louisville. Any help much appreciated.
392HEMIShoot him another E at jay@yellercat.com
halicatI just sent you an email with the info you wanted
galaxieThanks, Halicat
galaxieWhat color shimmer goes well on a orange kat with black bumpers? I like the white, but does another color look good? Thanks for any help.
meandmykittyGET SOME ORANGE TOUCH UP PAINT FROM THE DEALER AND DO IT YOURSELF THAT IS IF YOU HAVE A STEADY HAND AND SAVE YOUR MONEY YOU'LL BE HAPPY YOU DID.RICK
DandersonOrange Shimmers look nice. If you like more of a white/silver look, there are tons to choose from. Chrome, cotton candy (we have this on our Silver), cracked ice, etc.

Jay will even send you samples if you are having a difficult time deciding.

You'll never regret getting Shimmers. Much better looking than "touch up paint" (more depth, shine, etc.).

I totally agree

Galaxie I would go with chrome, cracked Ice or cotton candy shimmers. For the bumpers my personal favorite is cracked ice.

Steve.in.RoanokeBeware
Any chance of the "Cracked Ice" -or- "Cotton Candy" photo of the "shimmers"?
I too plan to put them on in at least the back bumper, but am having difficulty imaging the look.

Thanks

Steve.in.RoanokeOOpps!

Make that "imagining"

392HEMITake a look at the Yellow as a highlight to the Orange. Awesome contrast and look great. Very happy with mine.

Unfortunately, the differences don't photograph well. I'd ask Jay if he can send you some samples.

The best way to describe the difference is that the cotton candy is similar to the chrome, but it has a subtle rainbow effect. The rainbow effect of the cracked ice isn't subtle.

ed monahanI had the 99 Red bumpers painted to match the car and had them paint the letters black. It looked fine. HOWEVER, that was before Shimmers were in existence AND paint does not reflect or stand out at night. Ken G has yellow with RED shimmers and it is dramatic. I really like the looks of that.
I don't recommend any mods since I don't visualize anything. I need to see the finished product before I know what it will look like. You need to pick what you think looks best after listening to advice from others or seeing some other cars with the shimmers on them. Come to Louisville and you will see several variations, I am sure. I would recommend painting the bumpers orange and then going from there with the shimmers of choice.

It's a sunny day today. I will try and take a picture after I get off work. They look best when reflecting the sunlight. FYI our bumpers are painted purple.

BeWareWell by the time I got to take the pictures it was not as sunny. Here is what I was able to get. It does not do them justice but maybe you can get an idea.

BeWareCheck this thread and you will get a better idea of what cracked ice shimmers lool like
galaxieBeware, Thanks for posting the pics. Can't make up my mind. I'll take Ed's advice & see what other kat's look like in Louisville.
